I used to automatically dismiss people like the person asking this question. But when I really thought it about, racist people aren't disappearing, they've just been silenced. I think that in the minds of a huge number of people, it was a race fight. But things like that aren't talked about in the open.
In the world of political correctness, racist people run a huge risk of shame, lawsuit and job loss if they speak their mind. So they don't speak their mind, but they still think what they think. I'd rather have these sick people speak their mind so I can identify them easily and avoid them.

You are 100 % Wrong....First of all, Tyson was adopted & manager by a white Cus D'Amato & trained by white Kevin Rooney & Teddy Atlas. After Cus died....Mike was managed by white Bill Cayton....Tyson was never exploited by anyone until he dropped his team & went with black Don King.----Don was kind enough to prove that he is not a racist because the only color he sees is green. If you notice; Don usually hugs people from the front often using his left hand. Don probably does this in order that he can move his right hand around & snatch the guys wallet out of his pants pocket.----What happened 100 years ago in no way mirrors today. Johnson & Jefferies were both great fighters. It seems like it is probably only people like you that view the PBF/Hatton fight as a.....what did you call it ?....a " race fight ".---Just which race did you want to win last night ?

I cannot believe that applies in this case.
Jim Jeffries was the odds on favorite in that fight, soley because he was white and of his legendary status.
Ricky Hatton was never considered to be a favorite in this fight.
Although I do believe that there are individuals that still have problems comprehending that skin tone dictates very little of a persons character, its difficult to believe that in this case.
Consider this: This fight was put on by Golden Boy Promotions, owned by Oscar DeLaHoya. Principle speaking partners being Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosely and to a smaller degree, Winky Wright.
Did Mayweather Promotions have anything to do during this fight?
Thats alot of progress since 1910.

WOW!! That was...not even....
Don King is black, not white. Don King said the same thing you just said to Tyson, then robbed him. "Blacks" are not exploited in boxing!! Tonights promotion was done by Oscar De La Hoya (Mexican-American), Bernard Hopkins and Shane Mosley (African-American). They comprise "Golden Boy" promotions. The people who supported Hatton, were Hatton fans and they will hate the next guy he fights regardless of race. The fringe fans that tried to turn this fight into something else aren't even boxing fans to begin with.

i understand what your saying and its a brilliant point
no middle or high class boys get involved in the game do they , they keep their faces pretty and earn money from it
Hatton is adored in Britain as a working class boy from a council estate , the fact that he fought a black man has no relevance to the majority of hattons fans who have supported him for a long time
isent Hatton as a working calss boy also discriminated because of his social class
i am gutted ricky lost but maywether deserves the title

oh please give it a rest, race has nothing to do with it,yes there are race problems in the worls but when you talk of boxing the biggest user of black men and explotation has been don king.
this was purely a fight between 2 individuals, only an american would post this cos youre all obsessed by race you see it everywhere.
2 great fighters one great champion wins end of story.
