Yes and if you send me an e-mail I can send you a video clip of the two methods I teach my students. Both take you further away from your opponent as you do them, one of them you have to literally turn your back though and it gives you a tremendous head-start if you are going to make a run for it. The other you don't and you can continue to fight and/or protect yourself or drop back down into a ground fighting position on the floor making it harder for someone to attack your very effectively. For fun I sometimes tape a twenty dollar bill to my forehead and let a student have a shot at getting it while I am on the ground. I have not lost a twenty yet and most people in so far as ground fighting think in terms of what they know from standing up and attacking and defending themselves and that perspective.

When getting up for instance people put both hands down in front of them or to the sides and lurch up and forward towards their opponent. With their hands and arms down they can't defend or protect themselves and you literally are getting closer to your opponent making it easier for him to kick, knee, or punch you. In your case you are thinking if I can kip up that will be faster and safer. While faster it is not any safer and so you are right to think about this. Once you see the clips you will have a new perspective on this aspect.

Yes. The way we get up in aikido is VERY fast, but you'd have to go to a good yoshinkan aikido school to learn it. There aren't videos of it on the internet nor instructionals and no it doesn't have a name.
