I just graduated from a nursing unit assistant program. I have a job at a school still that pays well but I have been doing that for a long time and i want to get into health care. Currently the nursing unit assistant doesn't quite pay as much as my current job. I have a full time nursing assistant job offered to me but i wanted to work casual first because you make more money and there is lots of work for nursing assistants. I wanted to see how much I liked this new job before letting go of my old one and plus I would make extra money to pay off some debts. Some friends say it is better to take the full time gig but some say if there is lots of work you can get a full time job later. Want are your thoughts I can't decide. I want to work in health care for sure but I don't think I am ready for a full time job yet I want to try it out casual first. i am making a bad decision by turning down full time. There is a shortage of nursing assistant right now.

As we are not in your local market, it would be impossible to advise you properly. And only you can decide what you can do personally and financially.

Your options are to continue your current job and pick up some temp jobs to see if you like the NA position.

Take multiple temp NA jobs, but you have no way of being sure you will have enough jobs to cover your expenses.

Or take the full time NA job, and take additional NA temp positions to bring your salary up to your current level.

Only you can make that decision.

Good luck!

I would advise you to keep the job you currently have and go to a nursing home or hospital and get hired part time or on call. being a CNA is not an easy job,and the work enviroment is often very stressful.
No one on yahoo is going to be able to give you the magic answer - only you yourself can make the descision ....
a lot depends on the job market in the area you live too.

weigh out all your options and pick which one best fits your needs.

The working situations and pay have slipped especially undesirable. while the unions lost their clout, each little thing went down hill especially rapid. Your interior reach Toyota dealership pays extra, have a extra powerful earnings equipment, and can actually have a stable retirement software, no longer so for the airlines. on the vehicle dealership you have gotten first rate hours rather of evening shift. you artwork on autos interior. no longer airplanes. The airline will deliver you the place ever they choose you. often no longer the place you go with to be. you are the main accountable individual on the airport, and the least known, The FAA could make existence hell. i improve into as quickly as fined for no longer making use of a "dark adequate blue" pen for an illustration-off!! . be beneficial to study each recognize Jet checklist's answer too.

You can always check out agencies where you can make your own schedule or be PRN(as needed) in a nursing home. You don't want to just quit your job cause you never know if you will really like being a CNA, so test the waters first.
