Well, we do know that they were Christian, as it was a Christian facility where the shooting took place. But since the gunman has apparently not been identified yet, there's no way to know whether he was an atheist, a member of some other religion [not speculating on which one], or a former Christian who went flippo. Could have been a classmate of the students, for all we know.
People on R&S may have been speculating on who the gunman was, but unless they have more recent news reports (and they may, if they are in Colorado), speculation seems to be all they can do.

Ok... I'm willing to bet there is a fair chance that this was about a romantic or family relationship, rather than religion... Usually, people like this guy keep on shooting if they don't have a particular victim in mind.
Domestic violence.... the only form of violence more common than religious violence.
We'll see...

The shooter had to have some pretty distorted thoughts going on. I haven't heard anything beyond this.
