During basic training, are soldiers taught to shout for help, to retreat, to stay low?

Yes they are taught basic combat first aid, from a sprained ankle to a sucking chest wound. Treat for shock to a fractured leg. But for combat that is the basics.

They are also taught CPR and every soldier renews their CPR training annually.

Every soldier does basic first aid in how to apply his field dressing, (every soldier carries one).

If in a combat situation the medic is responsible for helping the wounded.

If in basic training then why would they be taught to retreat? If the wound is serious enough to stop them doing their job, they remain where they are till the medic and corpsmen stretcher him out to an evacuation point.

Shouting could attract the attention of the enemy to you, most soldiers are in eye-contact and know the location of their buddies as they advance, soldiers seldom operate alone.

Soldiers learn basic first aid while at basic. You learn to shout for medic if you need one. However you shouldn't ever be alone. Soldiers learn survival skills. Once they completed basic and school the Army has combat lifesaver course where you learn to give an IV etc.

They are taught what to do for a variety of situations.

But for the most part it is to obey the orders of a higher up whether an officer or a senior NCO. During combat shouting is not always best and things are happening fast with bullets flying and it is confusing, so following orders comes into play.

If wounded, well much of the training goes out the window for many due to pain and the inability to function properly.

Soldiers do learn basic first aid when in BCT, but in all reality it isn't very good training and they don't teach enough. I am a medic and we're taught how to treat our soldiers, so let us do our jobs.

Yes, and they are taught how to search for water and edible foods when in a foreign territory as well as treat their own injuries and the injury of a buddy. Downed pilots have the technology to let the aricraft carrier know exactly where they are. It cost much , much money to train a fighter jet piliot, so he is well prepared if he has to eject from his plane.

Absolutely, I will pray for Dell. God bless him & all those who who are wounded, struggling in all of ways both mental & physical. Oh ! God how I pray every day for all of our military. And Dell will be named all through the day as I lift him up to our only hope, Jesus Christ. Father God, hear our prayers. To you we give the glory. Amen ~~~~
