I don't quote or learn word for word any scriptures, I remember them by the lessons they teach, it doesn't matter who wrote them they are there, most of what is written in these scriptures are accountings of Jesus' life on earth, it is not complete and is from the disciples' point of view but the teachings are the same.

The Icon was Jesus Christ, His disciples were taught by Him so they in turn could teach their generations. Give all of the glory to Christ He earned it, for us, because it was His father's will, not His, this you can find many reference to, when He went off alone, and prayed to His father that if this "cup" could be taken from Him but only if God willed. Peace be with you.
