and saw me wearing a shirt that said "Jesus loves you, but I'm his favorite" would you think I was poking fun at my own piety, or seriously trying to insult you?"
Any Christians who read this, relax, I don't really have a shirt that says that.

For the record: I don't have the shirt, and wouldn't wear it, because even though it's just a joke, it wouldn't be worth the risk of offending someone who didn't know it was a joke. Just wanted to see what different kinds of sense of humor this morning's posters had. For those offended, apologies, truly. Thanks for the great answers!

I would laugh and tell you I think it's funny and cute... I would not be offended at all. I think another christian would be more offended than any atheists I know...

Poking fun at Jesus. It can't be an insult to an atheist because we believe Jesus isn't real, and couldn't care less who a fictional character likes best - kinda like you wouldn't care who a whore who gives it out freely loves best, as long as it wasn't you.

I certainly wouldn't find it insulting.
I don't find it all that funny though. There aren't many one-liners funny enough to justify being printed on a T-shirt, really the whole idea has just gotten out of control of late.

That sounds enough like a joke about the Christian faith than a recitation of the whole "your other with me or in Hell" thang...it seems slightly parodic, rather than anything else.

I'd rock up with a T-Shirt saying: Jesus loves you, and everybody else thinks your'e an ******.

Nope. That philosophy just happens to be the main core of today's young. Me, myself and I. Nothing is as important as self. Even my religion orbits self.

I'd think you have a sense of humor. I'm not hypersensitive about other people having different beliefs especially if they are okay with me not sharing them. =)

I wonder what your reaction would be to my shirt, which reads, "Mother's of teenagers understand why animals eat their young."
I haven't really eaten any of my children. Yet.
I would find your shirt to be amusing. Nothing more, nothing less. It's simply a shirt.

I would just think you were wearing a t-shirt with a quasi-funny joke on it.
Not being insulting.

No, personally I'd think you were a little bit on the self-satisfied, self-important side, and I'd wonder if that arrogance translated to other parts of your life.
