Drum circles are very popular today and crosses religious bounderies. It is a way for community to come together and make music with the drums and shakers and such and does not require musical experience or background. Many churches are getting in this and it is a very spiritual experience.

No, I've never had the opportunity to go, but would love to! I've heard about this trend also and I think it sounds fascinating.

My personal Christian family in the church believes music is one of many ways to worship Christ, and we do so very often, both inside and outside of the actual church. Drum circles are similar to this, and really, we are a very improvisational group in that we worship with whatever we have, be it our voices, electric guitars or violins. I believe that so long as our worship is directed toward God, he doesn't have any preferences, so we can do so with whatever appeals to us.

After being engaged for two years to a semi-professional studio drummer, the circles end up sounding extremely amateurish and random. So no, thank you.
