I must say I have been approached at work by Jehovah's and I wonder how they can be out Prostletizing asnd not working. I have to work to make ends meet at home and would love to be out spreading the word of God but I have not got funding for it I also teach lessons to children and most of the time the mom and dads are at the lessons so who is earning the money and who pays your bills. I am always trying to make ends meet yet you see Jahovah' s out walking around and they are being funded some how . tell me how. I know you are doing the work of Jesus but you need to be paid to do this everyday or you would not be able to eat put gas in the car have a home. take lessons. ect. and you have to work to contrubute to your church who is doing the secular work.

Every active Jehovah's Witness engages in the public ministry each month. None of them expects any "funding" from anyone, and in fact that seems unnecessary when the Christian minister is willing to humbly speak with whosoever he can reach with his own efforts.
Jesus did not tell his followers to wait until they had a car before they could start preaching, and Jesus set a wonderful example of living simply so that he could focus on what is really important to true worship: the good news.
...(Luke 9:58) Jesus said...: “Foxes have dens and birds of heaven have roosts, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay down his head.”
Incidentally, "Jehovah" is the personal name of Almighty God, the Sovereign of the Universe, the Creator. "Jehovah" translates the Hebrew Tetragrammaton into English, and is to be used with reverence and respect. An adherent among Jehovah's Witnesses is most certainly not "a Jehovah" but rather is "a Witness".
...(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
It seems significant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

They work. I am an ex JW.
The full time door knockers typically work part time. Some people in the local congregation may slip them a few bucks.
The JW organization doesn't fund anyone personally unless you are in Bethel, a worker in the printing faclities or I believe if you are a Citcuit Overseer or Special Pioneer.
These people are definitly not in it for the money. I don't know about the higherups, as the JW's own a lot of NYC real estate and get millions in contibutions. The big wigs may be skimming. But in 50 years as a JW, I never saw anyone making money on it.
It makes you wonder why they stay in that mind prison.

Good morning,
First of all thank you for an honest question that doesn't make assumptions.
Now, Jehovah's Witnesses are self supporting for the most part as were the early Christians. Remember, they were fishermen, tentmakers..Luke was a physician....All witnesses take seriously their obligation to care of themselves and their families. They hold down jobs in order to pay their rent, eat and have some fun. Some work only part time so they can devote themselves more fully to the ministry, and therefore live a simple life. There are some who have given up what some would call "normal" lives to become missionaries or work at branch offices around the world. These receive a small stipend for their needs. They are a small percentage though of the nearly 7 Million witnesses around the world. The rest of us do the best we can to obey Jesus command to go and make disciples. (Matt. 28:19,20)
Greytower: Respectfully, are you aware that the literature is offered free of charge. Voluntary contributions are accepted but in no way obligatory.

They work just like you. Ever hear of evenings and weekends?
Ever hear of people who are retired? Ever hear of those who can approach you during your work day because their work is 3-11 or 11-7 or steady 12 hour shifts Fri., Sat., Sun ?
The worldwide headquarters is in Brooklyn and it's funded by donations just as any other religious group.
All of their books and publications are for free nothing being sold. This wasn't always the case though.
Bottom line, grow up and realize that you too can go out and spread the word of God as you state you would love to do in your question. But it takes an organized effort and others wanting to do the same as you. You can do this as part of a group giving only one hour per month.
The JW's are VERY organized in their door to door mission. I have a great deal of respect for their organizational skills both as families/individuals and as congragations. All other sects of faith could learn a great deal from these people.
You sound really angry. I'll pray for you for peace.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not get paid for their preaching work, but we do have secular jobs or some other legal source of income (huge inheritance, etc)
You do not need to earn millions to survive. Besides, Jehovah gives the promise to take care of us. Remember what it says at Matthew 6:25-34?
Matthew 6:33- “Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you.

I understand you and I don't think you have a bad attitude about it. I can't tell you how all of my brothers and sisters do it. I don't have to worry about bills yet thankfully. But I do know that they work secularly and have simplifieds very much to preach the good news of the Kingdom. And Jehovah God has promised to take care of those who are doing his work.
(Psalm 145:15-16) To you the eyes of all look hopefully, And you are giving them their food in its season. 16 You are opening your hand And satisfying the desire of every living thing.
(Luke 11:3) Give us our bread for the day according to the day’s requirement.
(Luke 12:29-30) So quit seeking what YOU might eat and what YOU might drink, and quit being in anxious suspense; 30 for all these are the things the nations of the world are eagerly pursuing, but YOUR Father knows YOU need these things.
(Psalm 145:17) Jehovah is righteous in all his ways And loyal in all his works.
(Matthew 6:25) 25 “On this account I say to YOU: Stop being anxious about YOUR souls as to what YOU will eat or what YOU will drink, or about YOUR bodies as to what YOU will wear. . . .
(Philippians 4:6-7) 6 Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.
Hope I helped you.

JWs are not paid in preaching the good news to people. Others work part time so that they can preach more. Some work full time also to support their family but also find time to preach the good news of the Bible. The Watchtower society also provide some allowance to missionaries and help them with lodging and food and medical expenses.

Watchtower Society after construction the corridor required the interior of sight congregation individuals to pay (oops, I recommend "make a contribution") the completed fee of the corridor returned to the Watchtower Society, even nevertheless the Watchtower Society retained possession of the corridor! guess who have been given the money while the corridor became offered? no longer the interior of sight congregation, even nevertheless that they had paid for the full component. while the subsequent corridor became outfitted, guess what? comparable component. Congregation individuals are paying it down yet Watchtower Society keeps possession. as quickly as this is paid out, little doubt they're going to turn it and do it as quickly as extra. Wash, rinse, repeat. playstation - The interior of sight congregation will pay all costs linked with the dominion corridor: sources taxes, utilities, maintenance, and so on. In different words, it costs the Watchtower Society no longer something to construct the corridor, no longer something to maintain the corridor, and that they get a hundred% of the money for the sale of the corridor. No ask your self the Watchtower Society ranks interior the perfect 40 sales producing companies in NYC with one thousand million money consistent with annum! "

Most of us work for a living just like you. We simply live our lives around be Christians. Sharing the Bible is primary. Some families will work extra so 1 or 2 can spend a larger amount of time sharing. It really boils down to individual monetary limits and needs.

Jehovah's Witnesses do the door-to-door preaching work on a voluntary basis, publishers do as many hours as they can in their free time, as much as their circumstances allow. The pioneers do a base 50-hour month , paying for it by changing circumstances, i.e. smaller hours working, also car-pooling with other pioneers to cut down car costs, etc.
Missionaries in foreign countries do nothing but preaching work with occasional secular work, being funded primarily by the organization, which in turn relies on voluntary contributions
