I used to like my in laws a lot when I first got married, but now they seem to be getting on my nerves. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but they are just rude sometimes.

By in laws, I don't mean my husband's parents, I am referring to his extended family. They make such rude comments about everything and I never feel like being around them. Whenever we have family get togethers, I always hang around with my husband's younger cousins (who are like, 5-10 years younger than me lol.) And everyone makes fun of me that I hang out with the kids. I just feel like the children have much more intelligent things to talk about then the adults. All they every talk about it when are you going to have kids, you should have kids, why dont you have kids, blah blah blah.

I hate the "kid" talk, and now at my age its the "grandkid' talk. I personally find my daughters very entertaining, and when they were little every darn thing they did was cute and amazing. However, I was smart enough to know that NO ONE ELSE really thought that way. "Kid" talk is boring as all get out to everyone but the parents involved.

Stick with the family members who have something intelligent or amusing to talk about. Ignore the family members who criticize you. When and if you have kids is your business, no one else. If you let them get to you, however, they win, so practice laughing alot and ignoring them.

Asking those questions about when one is going to have children is quite rude and ignorant of proper manners. You are correct to ignore them. I would limit contact. Who needs that? hopefully your husband supports you on this. Let him visit them
