She's never been sick and from my side there are no problems. I'm an online student and at home most of the time. Is there an age limit? Some people on here seem to think it's crazy.
My daughter eats table foods during the day.

I think that nursing is a matter of personal preference. I was actually reading an article in Parenting or Baby, whereby a mother wrote an article justifying the fact that she breast fed her 6 year old! Do I agree with that? Well, it's not for me. I see lots of problems with it, but I understand that other people feel differently than I do. It's your child. As for me, I am thinking that I will breast feed until the age that baby starts eating cereal (4-6 months). I would ask your doctor what he or she thinks.

at this age most, if not all of her dietary nutrients should be coming from the foods she is eating. 2 of my daughter were on the breast for 2 years and i would say the last 6 months of that time was mostly for comfort and security and in the end the breastfeeding only happened before nap and bedtime. i was fine with that and never cared what anyone else thought. my babies and i knew when the time was right to give it up.... we made a new ritual before nap and bedtime. we had a snack, brushed our teeth and read some stories to continue the bonding and security.

my 3 daughters are all adults now.

I didn't breastfeed with my daughter. BUT I would have thought about 1 years old. Because they want you to switch over to Vitamin D milk at 1. I think it'd be a bit weird having my almost 2 year old daughter still nursing. But if it's comfortable for you then go ahead.

As long as you want. The only limits are your milk production, your daughers willingness, and other people's opinions. If you hav enough milk, your daughter still want to nurse, then you only have to deal with other people. 20 months is still pretty young and most people have no problem with it (I can't believe people woudl think that is crazy - she isn't even 2), but as she gets older you will get some weird looks and comments. If you don't care about those people then do it as long as the 2 of you want to.

As long as you are both happy with it, go ahead and nurse as long as you want! Personally I may start weaning around 2, if my daughter doesn't self-wean. She is 14 months now and I understand how weird it is to hear that we should stop. They're still SO little! Plus it's been proven that breastmilk changes in composition to accommodate their changing nutritional needs. That is so amazing. The bonding is wonderful too. There is this finite time when our children want us around, then they become teenagers! Go ahead and appreciate these special first few years. :)

You can breast feed your child for as long as you and she want to continue! It's completely up to you and your daughter. Most children who are allowed to self-wean do so at around 3 or 4, although in some cultures it is the norm to nurse until 6 or 7.

I personally wouldn't any long than 2 1/2-3 years, but in some cultures, women breastfeed until their child is 5 years old. That is a bit long in my opinion... just do what is best for you and your child. They might even just ween themselves.

She is your baby it is up to you to decide when you want to stop breastfeeding. Usually she will start biting that is why alot of my friends gave it up around that time. But otherwise you should be fine. Dont worry what people think do what is right for you and your daughter. Good luck
