my grandfather told me once ,
he had only 4 years of school but had a lifetime of wisedom... this was said to me while he was on his death bed at 92 yrs old and it meant alot to me...i would like to get this tattoo in honor of him thank you....

"Pochi anni di scuola ma una vita di saggezza"
this is not completely literal but it's the saying we have here in Italy. Literal translation of yr sentence would be "alcuni anni di istruzione ma una vita (intera) di sapienza" or "qualche anno di cultura ma una vita di saggezza (or di sapienza)"
