even on a first date - i am constantly knit picking at everything they do or say ... and i feel like i expect so much out of someone before ive even started dating them ...

i believe its because i think i offer so much and i know how true of a person that i am - that i was 10 times more than that in a person!

It has been my experience that a chronic "perfectionistic" attitude is often the result of insecurities within that person that remain at least partially unaddressed. Once you identify that in yourself, you will be able to more capably allow others to comfortably be themselves. Good luck in that regard, and Happy Holidays.
