Why do you all think you have the answers? Atheists for example, are sure there is no afterlife/gods and will argue with theists over this. Christians/theists on the other hand will go around trying to "convert" everyone which we all know isn't very pleasant.
Get this through your skulls: We're ALL human, and we ALL know that we do not have ANY answers pertaining to anything of a spiritual/afterlife nature—if anything to this nature even exists.
Why can't everyone be truthful to themselves and be an agnostic, so that there'll never be these pathetic types of arguments again. There's no proof God exists, and there's no way of proving he/it/whatever doesn't exist.

AM - that's not my point. My point is if everyone was neutral on the subject instead of taking sides the arguing would subside.

You'er making a sweeping generalization again.
You ask, "Why do you ALL think you have the answers?" Not everyone does that.
I have never "gone around trying to convert" anyone.
Now you are also suggesting that EVERYONE become an agnostic. My, my, I don't get that at all.
You are right. There is no proof either way.
Why don't YOU show some respect for both Christians and atheists and do us the courtesy of acepting our beliefs.
Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with wanting proof on anything. If the doctor says you have cancer just by looking at you, no tests, common sense demands tests to prove that you have cancer. Not just someones word which requires faith. I've read the histories of the "gods". Beings much like us who came to this planet and "created" humans. The bible was taken from these histories. The bible in comparison is an historical novel. Based on history with fictional characters as opposed to the historical facts themselves.

Read Dawkin's book. Atheism is lack of belief, and belief cannot be proven, therefore Atheism is proven by default.
Agnostics simply bow to the burden of proof reflection argument, which is a fallacy.
Also why atheists commonly play defence: we only need to expose a pro religion argument as falacious or untrue to prove our own point

Your premise is that we cannot know. You may consider me arrogant or deluded but I do not accept your premise.
I know certain things to be true. They have been revealed and confirmed by evidence and experience. I could construct a different barrier of proof that would allow me to deny them, but that would make them no less true (only unacceptable to me). Furthermore these truths are valuable to me because they give me an understanding of myself and the world around me.
Therefore although I can tolerate another person's position and we can be in cordial disagreement. I cannot accept for myself a neutral position because it would be a denial of what I know to be true.

Christianity and atheism have to do with BELIEFS. Of course we don't have hard, cold fast answers. I don't claim to KNOW there is no god. But it's what I believe because of the lack of evidence otherwise.

I had a great aunt who wanted to survive death long enough to say to all those who didn't believe her "I told you there is no life after death."
Er Atheism is lack of belief, and belief cannot be proven, therefore Atheism is proven by default. I'm glad it makes sense to you, but it makes my head go funny.

Ask any christian they will tell you that they do have all the answers. We atheists are only asking for the proof of those answers.

FAITH -- confidence, or believing in something you can not see.
And no proof that God exists?
