does her hair part like that naturally? If so, ask her if she likes it that way. maybe she doesn't. but you shouldn't worry about that. It's her hair. It she wears lots of black eyeliner, and mascara, it might not mean anything. Maybe she likes it that way. You could ask her about it. Gently, and not aggressively. try not to make it apparent that you are worried about it.

It's just self-expression. For most teenagers it's a sign of being an emo. An emo usually is a depressed teenager. However, it's probably just a style she likes, and shouldn't be worried about. Most teenagers like this look and it's just a way to be different. Talk to your daughter about any problems she might be having. However, it's most probably nothing.

I have a daughter who does the same thing. It doesn't mean anything more than she thinks it looks good. (I don't happen to agree, but I'm pretty sure that's irrelevant ;))
It's interesting that you ask if it means she's depressed. I wonder if there's something beyond the hairstyle that has you a bit worried?

I wouldnt worry about her her style too much. My daughter and every other one of her friends has the same style. But if you are thinking depression I would look a little deeper into why you are thinking that.

That is a hairstyle. What on earth would it mean if she wore a pony tail, or had it cut short, or pulled back? What does it mean when you wear your hair the way you do, that it looks good on you and you feel pretty that way. Don't read more into things than are nececessary.

It might just be a style thing but it could also mean low self asteem or that she is trying to "hide". Talk to her...

No Not depressed.
Showing herself and to others what she feels she looks like.
(she will soon get comments on it) .
I think she,s experimenting with different looks and recognition by others that she has her own individuality and is growing up.
