Maybe you should keep a schedule and give him a copy, that way he knows what you are doing and when is a good time to call. You could add an item to the schedule for a good time to talk to BF.

Then tell him to stop calling you at these horrible times. It's not because you're ignoring him, it's because he continues to call at times where you can't talk with him. What he's doing is essentially blaming you for the lack of communication despite the fact that he should know by now that it's at an unreasonable time. Simply explain to him that things need to change and you aren't ignoring him by any means.
