No, it's not against policy. Gay bars are where they do most of their recruitment anyway! The best officers always come from the back room anyway!

just get a copy of the police manual / policies. i would not think that it would be against the law for an officer to work a part time job in security after their shift is done. i do not think it would matter what time of business the security work is done in. ? i am a private citizen / with no LEO experience , (other than i'm working with other citizens to put an end to corruption in our neighborhood). i do not see why you would need to defend yourself for taking a part time job ? as long as it is legal money / you are paying taxes / there should be no shame ? issue with law ? maybe check to see if your police agency has a manual or a policy that says you can't work a second job in the same industry ? in my job , i have certain non compete clauses in my agreement. i could not work part time for a competitor of my business because i would know certain inside /intellectual property information that could hurt our company. it would be a conflict of interest / i am prohibited from accepting it. even if i leave my job , i have signed that i will not disclose certain things to a new employer. maybe ask an atty for help in understanding your employment agreement ? Non Disclosure Agreements that you may have executed ?

They have the same rights as anyone else. From your previous posts, I have to wonder if there is some type of jealousy here. Did he not accept your offers?
