I'm 14 yrs old now because TODAY's my birthday!
Okay, I asked this guy out to be my boyfriend, which was CRAZY of me to do [I'm a girl too but my friends said If I'm desperate, I can ask a guy out] & I liked that guy & I wanted a boyfriend for my birthday for the 1st time. I wrote him a letter in homeroom & someone told me his name was Steven Gilbert so I wrote his name on the letter & told everyone that I liked him & asked everyone what was his personality like, I even drew pretty hearts all over it! But turns out, his last name wasn't Gilbert, no wonder everyone was saying ew. I even screamed his name outside the BOYS bathroom to the wrong guy becuase one of my guy friends said he was in there! Wow, I must've been high on suger on Friday. I was searching for Steven the WHOLE day & at last, I gave him the letter & I told him to read it in front of me so I can get the answer be4 I leave for the bus. I was holding on to his friend's arm dying of embaressment & my face turning red!

His answer was flat out "NO!" but in a gentle tone. I asked him why & is it because I'm ugly. But he said he doesn't care about looks, he doesn't know me [we don't have any classes together], & he depends on personality. I have a good amount of friends & mostly everyone says that I have a great personality except for the ppl who saw my bad side. After he said no & answered my question, I punched him in the back & my bones are very healthy & strong & said "You stupid b*stard" to him! Mann, that was a BAD BAD BAD start off! What was I thinking? I couldn't even concentrate that day b/c I was busy thinking about him, daydreaming, & what he'll say when I give him the letter. Now, I'm thinking about writing him a letter & buy him a small gift with my b-day money! What should the gift be & what should I write?

Dear Steven,
I'm sorry for calling you a stupid b*stard. I hope you'll accept my apology....

I personally believe that people need to mess up a few relationships before they get one right, and those situations can be quite painful. These love hormones are tricky things to deal with, and it is very easy for us to over-react to such deep feelings. Especially for abused children, because we over-react to love and loss in extreme ways. The most important thing is to learn to understand from the other person's perspective, not just to think of things in terms of your own needs. If you want the boy to love you, try and figure out how to become what "he needs". He needs comfort and security, and make yourself into that.

well, i think you'll be very lucky if you don't get suspended from school for punching someone. Not cool, not classy, and not the kind of girl that someone wants to date. Write him an apology note, move on, and try to avoid the sugar in the future. Also, if you put a guy on the spot like that (demanding he read the letter immediately and then demanding an answer) he is most likely going to say no because he's uncomfortable. Next time try to get to know him first as a friend, as personality is really an important part of dating someone. Good luck.
