I have a PS2 (slim) and one of my friends told me that if i played my old PS1 titles or any movies on the console, the lens will wear out soon. Is this true?

yes my ps2 messed up because of ps1 games and movies so just stick to ps2 games. First the ps1 games stop working then within a month the ps2 itself just stoped working. And had to buy a new one.

Ive been playing,PS2,PS1,CD and DVD's on my PS2 for over 7 years now and never it still works like brand new.It wont wear out long enough you take care of it

Any usage of lens (movies, games, audio, etc.) wears it off. Stick to PS2 games and it'll last longer. Play movies on DVD player or PC.
