Acceptence and handling it. Whining does no good. Suffering exist only within our own minds and that is where we deal with it.

The origin of suffering is selfish desire and attachment
There is a way to end suffering

Right Understanding
Right Thinking
Right Speech
Right Attitude
Right Livelihood
Right Effort
Right Mindfulness
Right Concentration

Seeing Suffering in others
What can seem great suffering to me can be Great Learning to that other Person
I believe we must be very careful in not stuffing up their learning curve
It is right to offer that Person help BUT If it is ever rejected for whatever reason it would be very unhelpful to insist
Yes this is sometimes easier said than done
For me especially when it involves a young child and can be very testing when the natural instincts is to remove that suffering at any cost

First they analyze what it is.

They see it as a result of clinging to the multiple aspects of the "self"

They attempt to cease clinging.

They follow a path that maximizes the ability to cease clinging.

What individual Buddhists do in the face of the concrete suffering of a particular individual varies from individual to individual. Just as what individual Christians do will vary from individual to individual.
