You and your family probably will be happy with the a 42" LCD style TV. I recently purchased a 50" plasma and am very pleased with it. It is in the corner of my 16x20 ft. living room and takes up very little space. However, if you're going to allow gaming on it, go with an LCD type TV. I was told that gaming, such as PlayStation or Wii on Plasma TVs would cause them to "burn out" faster.

Well, I have a 42" in my living room, and it's perfect.
Gives you a bit of a movie theater feeling when watching dvds. Playing the Wii on this tv is awesome.

But I guess it also depends how far away the tv is from he couch. My dad's friends has the same TV as me, but his couch is so far back that i think the 42" almost too small.

So think about the size of your living room and the distance between the TV and the couch, that should give you the best answer....

The kids will probably want to go for the biggest possible generally a flat screen plasma or lcd but you dont want it to dominate the room unless its specifically a tv room try placing a box about the same size to represent a tv shape and size if it feels to bbig then it is . I think that for family tv and playing games then 28 inches up is a good bet also hd is probably worth getting just to future proof it all

I also have a 15x13 lounge and sit down 5-6 ft removed from the television besides. We bought a 32 inch liquid crystal show flat show final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and that i desire we had bought the 37 inch. My boyfriend did countless study and we desperate liquid crystal show became superb for us. Plasma does fade over the years.DLP would not have a outstanding image once you seem at it from the area. (I shouldn't say that because of the fact I artwork for the commerce association that represents the technologies used interior the DLP and could sell it) i understand that the DLP technologies is extremely sturdy and lasts a protracted time. I choose the liquid crystal show image myself. we've a pointy aquos. in case you're able to have the money for it, get the 40 two inch. it is not that extensive and the costs are coming down further and further. look into Costco. they have some wonderful costs and nicely reviewed products.

hm... a lot of consoles. i suggest to buy a lot of small ones than buying a big one. so then jonny can play playstation in his room, jina can play wii in hers, and you 2 love birds can have the living room all by your self. ;)

hehehehe.
