first off I was thinking of asking the same question.
Second that is probably why the catholic church opposed to the movie Dogma. Because that movie portrayed god as a female and not a male.

Its funny how they say god (male) created life and yet women do the same thing.

If god was real I'd say god would be female because that would make the most sense in terms of creating life.

God is referred to as 'The Father' in many religions and in the Bible, but that is to give the impression he is head over us in a family-type way. In real terms, God is neither male nor female, as that would imply the existence of both a male and female God, and there is only one true God

The Goddess is female. Male gods are a new invention in human history and it isn't working for us. Humans need the guidance of a loving Mother, and we need to know we are loved and connected to the rest of the Universe. Only a female body could create life within it without help of a male, through parthenogenesis - the idea of a male creator is absurd. Males can only reproduce in conjunction with a female.

The Goddess was the first deity ever worshiped, and She'll be the last, because sooner or later, people will wake up to the fact tha YHWH is a god of endless war.

Just the way the bible portrays "him" makes me think god is actually a female or a male that possesses many female personality traits. Jealousy, creating life, need for love....the list goes on.

My personal opinion? The jury is still out on that one because I do not interpret god in the same sense as our traditional religions do.

Love, affection, sympathy, generosity, grace, beauty, loveliness, cleanliness, tenderness, mercy and all such qualities are not masculine attributes. So God cannot be masculin. God is evidently a woman. The animals and creatures referred to in the books must be the sect commonly known as "men" among the human beings. May peace prevail on all creatures until SHE decides otherwise.

The way that Islam sees this is; God is not like his creation. Therefore he is neither male or female. God is one without being a number because one is not a number in arabic.

Gendor is based on a persons genitals. God is Spirit and has no gendor. We call God a Him because we have no personal pronoun for a sexless being that is not insulting. Jesus described Him as a Father so we call God a Him.

Pagans see the creative force (god...call it what you will) as being both male and female.
Life cannot be created one without the other.
