There is probably a lot of truth in this. Nearly 10% of all my education includes sex education. This ranges from the "don't put your wee-wee into girls thingies" speach in third grade all the way to a College level "healh" class I needed to get my AA. There are a LOT of different forms of birth control, and you never really hear about them all just hanging out on the street. There are people who will never be educated about some options, and a lot of drug stores keep them locked away, or hidden under the counter, where you have to ask for them by name to get them.

People with less education will also lack the credentials to get a lot of upper level jobs, where certain birth control options may be covered by the company. Hormonal implants, IUDs, and Diaphragms all require at least one doctor's visit, for example, and paying to use the pill regularly is beyond the financial ability of someone working minimum wage, but a company can afford to offer these products, because it is far less expensive than to pay for the medical visits necessary for either abortion or giving birth.

If you don't know about a lot of options, and can't afford some of the ones you know about, then yeah, no birth control, and very few types of it would be a very likely option.
