Best to go and make up your own mind. Take another friend instead? Look at the Day at the Wells for a sense of what life was like there - rooms and coaching inn all set out. Walk down the Pantiles - have tea at Binns - look at the old band stand - now a jewellers. Taste in waters (full of iron) - see the cellar where the Beaux gambled - visit the wells on the other side of the main road at the edge of the common. Have a drink in the Sussex Arms known as the piss pot pub because of the collection of them. Walk up the hill past the original 17th century chapel, go into Calverly Ground park cafe for a cheap fry up- visit the museum (free entry) above the library - often they have art exhibitions there too.
Walk on the common by the cricket ground and climb over the sandstone rocks. Visit the High Rocks ( out of town ) for a larger more impressive Victorian walk over the outcrops - the steam train stops there. Eat posh food at the Beacon Hotel - on road to Langton (wonderful views over the countryside) or the hotel opposite the police station in town (built by Decimus Burton.) Well give it a try...? At least you will know what YOU think.

It would be okay for a few hours - some quite attractive architecture. There is also a preserved steam railway that runs from the old Tunbridge Wells West Station to Groombridge (The Spa Valley Railway).

No, no longer area of London, for an 18+ pupil Oyster photocard you may desire to be resident in London in the time of term time, to be conscious you go with a uk handle, Tunbridge Wells is interior the united kingdom

Never been and any town that allows its tourist website to get so far out of date..the thing is still in September in places..does not bode well. But it is meant to be a beautiful area and worth a visit..besides, you can get a good deal and you would like to go. Tell your partner to suck it up and pretend to enjoy himself..it isn't as if you are trying to talk him into emigrating!

Nah, you want to go to Redcar...similar to Ibiza, just colder. Oh and its got the oldest life boat in the world, shame they still use it! Its all exciting stuff.
To find it just follow the yellow haze from ICI and British steel.
Enjoy...hahaha.
