Hydrogen peroxide was a good answer. At the pharmacy there is an inexpensive treatment called sweet oil. A few drop in the ear and you should be back to good.

Clean with peroxide---> sweet oil--->cotton ball

heating pads will thin down the mucous or wax in the ear before you boil it out with the peroxidw. I do the peroxide with a medicine dropper in the shower. Less mess and the eustacian tubes are warmed up and relaxed.

If you have an ear infection, you will not get rid of it without medication. Only a doctor can tell if you have an infection. See an ear, nose, and throat doctor. If the infection should get really bad, your ear drum could burst.

Depends on which side of the eardrum it's on... Inner ear infections are done with antibiotics.

Outer ear infections, You can wash it out... but you may need to remove the wax first, which means you have to wash it out anyway.
You can do chemical warfare against it - i.e. by half-strength vinegar, or salt water, or hydrogen peroxide..

Vinegar and hydrogen peroxide would be my choice... but me thinks you should be going to the doc, anyway.
