This all depends how badly stuck the ring is. I would start by lubing your finger up and trying to get it off that way first. But at anytime if your finger starts changing color, or becomes cold, painful and/or numb. Then you need to go ahead and call 911. They will have a special ring cutter device on the ambulance to cut the ring off. If it does come to this do not worry. A good jeweler should be able to make the ring larger and repair it. Or at least put the gem(s) in a new larger ring. Good Luck!! Remember what I said above! It will be no fun to have a undamaged ring if you have no finger to wear it on! ;-)

Lots of stuff : 1. Olive oil; 2. Ice your hand to take out the swelling; 3. Soap is pretty slippery ; 4. Keep your hand raised for a long time so the swelling goes down even further;
Be patient and don't create more swelling by ripping the ring off when it just won;t give...work at it gently, rest it and elevate it and ice it. Good luck.

When I got a ring stuck on my finger I used a lot of dish soap and I got the ring off. I also told someone on here and it worked for them.

I have to deal with this a lot, since I've gained weight since my marriage.

You'll need to wet your hand down, then apply a generous amount of something slippery such as soap. A word of warning: Try not to fight your ring too much, or else your finger will start swelling.

If that happens, just let it go for a while then try again.

Good luck!

first stick you hand in ice water for about 5 min, this will shrink you fingers, next find something really slippery, veg oil or olive oil works good then just keep working it off the finger. If you till can't get it and it is turning your finger blue you need to have the ring cut off.

I USE DISH SOAP BECAUSE IT WILL LOSEN TEH GRIP THAT THE RING HAS ON YOUR FINGER IF THE RING IS STUCK ON THERE TO BAD WHERE YOUR FINGER IS SWOLLEN AND THERE IS NO WAY I HELL YOU CAN GET IT OFF THEN YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GO AND GET IT CUT OFF. BY THE WAY IF YOU ARE ON YOUR PEROD YOU SHOULDNT BE WEARING RINGS BECAUSE YOUR FINGERS AND HANDS HAVE A TENDIOUSY TO SWELL AND THEN RINGS AND SUCH DO GET STUCK.

What can make it harder to get off is the swelling, if it hurts really bad get a proffesional to cut it off...the ring.

pulling on it may have caused your finger to swell. use a cold pack on your finger for 5-10 min and then use soap and pull it right off.

Use vasoline or some other lubricant *shifty eyes* to get it off. You don't have to worry about it ruining the ring.
