I know when I write warnings, there is a space for work information. Mostly this is used for database purposes. However, if you were driving a company vehicle that was clearly marked, I might call your boss to let him know how you were driving the company vehicle. If you were in your personal vehicle, I don't give a hoot about where you work. Especially if it was just a warning.

Conversation maybe. Sometimes I asked innocent questions while waiting for dispatch to give me the plate or DL information. Where you going, where you coming from, what kind of work do you do ........

Sometimes this helps too, because if it's a minor traffic offense, i try not to write doctors and nurses for example. I would hate to have to be stuck with a needle or operated on by someone i gave a ticket to.

The question is an administrative one. If they need to find you they have another place to look. No, they will not contact them unless you live in a state where at certain hours you are not allowed to drive unless you are going to or from work due to your age.

I don't think cops should ask personal questions. It's none of their business and it's not their job. Can you ask them personal questions and expect an answer? No.

Just a scare tactic. No big deal. Don't let it bother you. They cannot and will not notify your employer. Even if you got a traffic ticket they could not. Don't even worry about this.
