My sister is in middle school and her school is close by so she walks. She came home after school and told me that these Black adult men called on her. She was smart enough to ignore them and walk off. I'm not worried because they are Black, I'm worried because they are adults, they wear ghetto clothing, and the police always drives by that area.

Should I be worried? How would you feel if your sister told you this? What is the best solution?

Thanks for reading.

I would alert the police that adults were bothering your sister as she walked home from school. You shouldhave her wait in the school til someone picks her up.

I would suspect that they were up to no good. No man in his right mind would call out to a young girl for no reason---those men should have known that 3 of them would be intimidating.

Why not make an official report with the police? The police will canvass the area more closely for the next few days.

Make sure your sister does not walk alone anymore, and especially that they do not follow her to find out where she lives.

Unfortunately, as long as thugs live amongst us, we have to change our routines and sometimes that is inconvenient, but it may be a choice that keeps us out of harm's way. Good luck to your little sister. You must try your best to keep her safe.

Yes, you should be worried. Your sister is probably in danger, as are any other kids in the area. Young girls are targeted, kidnaped and raped all the time... and many do not ever return home.

You need to call the police and ask them to increase their patrols in the area. Tell them about these guys, and any other descriptions of their car and what-not.

You need to coach your sister in looking at these guys and getting their license plate numbers... without getting within grabbing range. She needs to be ready to sprint away. You might want to get her some mace or CS spray to carry.

I would also suggest talking to the principal at her school about this so that more precautions can be taken on campus.

Well. good job for your sister. And if you ever see them make sure that you don't talk to them either. And adults strangers should know better than to talk to kids. So if they ever get too close or make a move or anything. Call the police and ask them to watch that area or something like that. good luck.

Some guy would go to the bus stop in his truck and just sit in his truck there and stare at my friend and I. He did this a couple of times. He would never say anything, just stare, and he would switch vehicles. We decided to file a police report, and my mom started driving me to school, instead of making me take the bus. I'm guessing he might have seen the cop car @ our house. He didn't show up ever again.

I suggest you either do the same (even if you don't know who they are exactly), or you can walk or driver her to school everyday.

well, definately don't put one of those monitoring chips in her (as tempting as that sounds) but all you need to do is just be sure she is okay going and coming from school. Don't worry to where your hair turns grey. That's mom and dads job but it's your job to see that she stays safe. Guys will be guys, sad to say and there's nothing we can do to stop grown men from being jackasses (trust me. I grew up in Memphis. lol.). It's good that she already knows how to take precautions but let her know that if they ever get to an uncomfortable distance, tell her to run until she gets home or finds someone that will help. She'll be fyne. Beautiful girls have to get used to these things *flings hair* ^_^

I would be worried. Hopefully these guys saw she was a smart girl and wont attempt anything again, but I would recommend that if she lives nearby someone walk her home, or simply pick her up. Remeber, theres safety in numbers.

I would be VERY worried. The best solution is find someone to drive her home instead of having her walk.
