Lets say you and your spouse are sitting in the back yard, one of your kids get hurt, they run crying, who do they go to for lovin mom or dad? Does it bother you when they don't go to you or show for affection to others?
I must say it use to bother me and I found myself trying to have them love me more. Of course I have since moved beyond that since they come to me for other things and love us the same.

My daughter goes to her dad b/c when I was on bedrest 2x she had to rely on him big time and now that I'm done the pregnancy and her bro is almost 3, she'll still go to him for everything. It breaks my heart b/c we were soooo close.
My son thankfully comes to me!

Lately, my 3 year old has been running to me more. don't know why, he may be hitting a phase of mommy attachment. Usually, it is kinda 50/50, most of the time he runs to one and then the other.
My 1 year old on the other hand will always run to me. Mainly because when he is hurt or sad or scared, he likes to nurse for comfort and....well....daddy really can't do that...LoL.
Doesn't really bother me much, it did in the early years of my first but I quickly learned that it does not mean he loves me less.

Well, i have no kids, but when i was little i would always run to my mom and my sister would always run to my dad. I think it was because i looked more like my mom, so i felt some sort of connection with her, just like my sister looked more like my dad. Some people are mommies girls/boys and some people are daddies girls/boys.

In my house with my kids, when the chips are down, its all about mom. I think that is the way it is with most young kids.
They do show plenty of affection though to my husband so I don't think it bothers him.

My kids almost always run to me...but I am a stay at home mom and take care of them most of the time. Even my STEPCHILDREN come to me first...for the same reason. I am their primary care taker.

Definitely me, Mummy. My daughter is a mummy's girl. I wish daddy could go in at night and settle her back to sleep if needed. Will only take mummy. Little monkey

I always went to either, depending on whowas closest whatever. My twin sister though went through a stage where she would only go to mum for help.

My son normally comes to me, but hubby got laid off in June and has been home because he has not been able to find a job yet so he will sometimes run to him, but if I am home he will run to me.

Who ever is closer. Depends how bad they hurt themselves. If it is really bad they come to me (mummy).
If they are sick, straight to me. Even Dad comes straight to me!!
Don't worry about it!! My boys now seem to run to their Daddy more. They need both parents. xxx
