hmm..simple...those who insist _______ happened a long, long time ago are either regurgitating (repeating) what someone else said or they came to that conclusion on their own...did it really happen? no.
yes in the bible there were miracles and stuff...now theres nothing...i think the absence of miracles shows that people are smarter now...were no longer gullable enough to beleive that when something happens it happened because of some magical unexplained force...we have science.
science killed miracles. logical observation killed miracles. reasoning and common sense killed miracles.
there is no proof...only blind belief.
blind belief is born from desperation or desire...you cant go there by following logical paths...only by accepting what others tell you and assuming things are fact based on personal feelings...thats it.
welcome to reality.

They (archiologist people) actually have Roman recorders and there was this guy named Jesus who was the son of a guy named Josiph who was from the clan of David, living 2000 and some odd years ago, who only lived to be about 33, and was exicuted on the cross.
Now for miricals you actually have to be there or else the only place they will be published in are junk magazines like the national enquirer. Our student council chapel rep at my school was talking about a prayer meeting he was at were this girl had one leg that was shorter then the other, and after this couple prayed for her her leg was normal sized. You actually have to talk to someone whose seen a mirical or be there yourself.
And God will do not only one but a long bunch of miracles to prove he is real, but people being people will just blow it off as something else.
Also all this hate hurt and suffering can bring out the best in people. Think about the missionaries who go over sea's to help orphanes in Africa, the help teams that whent to Lousiniana after Hurrican Katrina, the doctors who work for little to no money to help impovrished families in the the US and Canada today, because they want to. If that doesn't have God written all over it, I don't know what does.
As well, God could reach down and stop it, but it would involve taking away our free will, and God wants people to willingly follow him, not be mindless robots. MOST of the pain suffering and hurt in the world today are done by peoples choices, nothing more nothing less. (It is true that some things are not done by peoples choices though).

As was already stated, miracles still do happen. But just as it was when Jesus walked with us, many refuse to see them.
It seems as if the answers here are asking why God doesn't heal everyone who is sick. But God doesn'e work like that. Even the Gosples show that Jesus worked only a few miracles in his time. Many of those were not accepted bythe powers that be.
If you want to hear about miracles today, go to Lourdes or Fatima and see how many people have been healed. There there if you want to see them

He has saved everyone of us.
That is the miracle of what He did on the cross.
It's just that not everyone wants to accept this.
God allows us to have free will.
Part of that free will are the evil and suffering we choose to do to one another. The other part is love, for God and others.
God could demand our love, but that would not be love.
We would be nothing more than obedient robots.
Love, to be love, must be given freely of our own will.
If you look at the ten commandments, they are not demands.
They are about our loving God and other people.
If we do not, then we are capable of the murders, stealing, lies, etc. Doing those things show a lack of love and caring.
Each of us are responsible for our own interaction with the world, not God.
The proof you seek is found in Jesus Christ, who He is and what He has done. Until you can accept that possibility, you will not know that God is 100% real. The proof is stepping out in faith beyond the lines we have drawn for ourselves.

God doesnt do miracles just to make us believe. We have to have faith and believe first so the good things can come and our personal miracles can happen in our life. I can tell that you are seeking an answer and are eager to know. I'm glad you are seeking and not just bashing the whole idea. That says a lot about your character. God doesn't save all of us because he gives us free will. We get to choose how we want to live our lives, whether it be going to hell or heaven, we make our own destiny. God would love for us all to go to heaven but he doesn't want to force you to live his way. It's up to you. He gives you the opportunity to come to him, if you choose to take it you will be granted his salvation. The horrible suffering and pain in the world is all from the devil himself. he cause all the evil and it is a war. people who choose to continue the evil have to reap the consequences. the evil is to make us struggle and want to turn away from God, but if your strong enough you can handle anything. I've had some great losses in my life and I was able to get through the inevitable because I had faith an believed. The power of prayer is wonderful. I now look back to those sad times and I can smile and know it was for the greater good. Those things had to happen for me to get where I am today. I have had to struggle but I have been awarded as well. I am very happy in my life and I have been given so much. I am a big success for my line of work and I thank it all to my faith and love for God. He will be good to you if your good to him. You just need to give him and his word (the bible) a chance. :)

I’m Christian and I do not believe every thing that is printed in the bible. The reason why is 1) It was written by men not God Just men who said things happened. None of the people who are in the bible were even alive when it was written. 2) Those men were trying to set the foundations for the religion. In order to hook people in they needed to make it more fantastic so I am certain they embellished it some. Also they were setting up the rules for a new religion.
And for now a days god made the world he put the people in it giving them free will. He put his faith in us to choice the right path. He wants us to have struggles to learn from and grow. He can’t control everything if he did that would mean he doesn’t have that faith in us.

I believe in truth seekers. Like you I want to believe and hear of the miracles here and now instead of those long ago and only written by memories of those long long gone.
I still say that even though I am sceptical, the biggest miracle that we have in our time is that this world still exists for all of us to live on. Don't you think as it could be wiped out right now couldn't it?
Don't stress it out to each his own, you are good in seeking the truth, it doesn't mean you don't believe you just want the second coming right? Then we would be up to date.

Jesus once said to the people of His time that if they were unable to take notice of what was written in what we call the Old Testament they would not believe 'even if someone rises from the dead'. The miracle of His resurrection and its power to change peoples lives is testified to by literally millions of people throughout the whole world and in every generation. However the Bible makes clear that God moves first in a persons life and even gives faith to believe. Try reading one, or all, of the Gospels, even with your scepticism, and God will honour that.
Sickness and suffering is a big subject but frankly is caused almost entirely by mankind not by God.
We could see a drastic reduction if we lived as He directs, loving our neighbours as ourselves.

Miracles happen everyday, maybe not like the Bible describes. You have to be open to see it, and I'm not talking about Jesus on toast. It is hard to believe there is a God who allows all the suffering and pain, until you understand why it has to be so. Does compassion and love come from suffering? What positive actions come from suffering? What is the deeper reason for all things, keep asking, keep searching, keep an open mind and heart and you the truth will come to you.

believing in God is something that can't be taken lightly. when creation happened God gave his children, free will, be abused this gift that was given to us therfore this has caused inbalances in the world and that has caused the evil and suffering. As for showing us proof, God tests our faith in many different ways, he tests our relationship with him and for those who's relationship is strong enough, there will be a connection between the individual and God that no-one can contridict. I will ask you, what does it take to show you that God exists, to take away free will, so that everything is harmonius in the world, then no evil would exist, then we would be come robot like. for miricles to happen? maybe but who is to say that miracles do not happen these days. God would have to perform miracles on everyone to ensure that they believe in him, people contrict miracles with science, but who gave us this science? every technology that ha happened in our livetimes, have you ever asked yourself how did that happen, yes there were inventers, but who invented the inventers?

Your interpretations of who God is are wrong. Because he exists you think the world is "lovey dovey" and let's all get a long paradise? Well it should be like that however, sin entered the world. This caused problems for human kind because we disobeyed God. That is why there is hurt and pain and suffering. We do it to ourselves, we cheat on our spouses. We kill for revenge, we hurt each other. We have created our own sin and God doesn't want everyone to parish so he sent his Son to Die for our sins. All you have to do is believe he did it! And you cast all your sins upon his back. I swear once you believe that you will the light of the world. My life was changed dramatically. You want proof but your not looking at it the right way. God is a spirit, his thoughts are not our thoughts his ways are not our ways. It's hard but it is by faith and by faith he is justified.
