If he was my best friend I would forgive him.
And then give her a good hiding for acting like a $lut.

Depends.
I would say that if you were truly, deeply hurt to the point where you wanted nothing to do with your spouse, then call it quits and move on.
If you still love this person and want to be with them but are truly hurt, then you need to find the root of the problem that caused the spouse to do such a thing and work on mending the relationship. There is a lot of counseling out there and I am having a similar situation only he is the one out and screwing about. We are now going to go through counseling. I am also working on breaking the bad "habits" I may have on my end and not leaving the total blame on him. So if you are still in love and still wanting something out of it, there is nothing stating anywhere that you can't try, try again.
Just my thoughts. My heart goes out to you because I can relate.

Wow...all the trust bonds have been broken. I would probably ask my spouse to leave for a couple of weeks...book them into a hotel...so that I could think things through. I would probably leave them permanently.
I know that others have been faced with this and extensive marriage counselling worked...but wow...that would be tough!!

i would be done with them for sure regardless if they cheated because they were attracted to someone else or they did it because they felt i drove them to do it......once that line is crossed and someone is unfaithful...trust becomes a serious issue and since it can never fully be regained after such an ordeal, then there is no relationship. plus it would be foolish on my part to forgive them because what would stop them from doing it a second time especially since they got taken back. i know it would hurt sooo badly to say goodbye to someone i loved, but i would always remember that time does help ease the pain and every day would get easier without them.

Divorce, force him out, etc. An adulteror is disgusting. Yeah there's forgiveness, and that is important but a lecher should not remain a spouse.

Leave!
Him and everything in the house and start over!
Get a divorce ,
Get a new life because anything you take with you is tarnished and has him attached
Now the hard part,,,, Don't place blame, don't hate, don't point fingers,,,, Forgive!
This keeps YOU safe from harm.
Your health is more important than his choice of lovers

Collapse onto the floor, roll to a corner, rock back and forth, cry relentlessly, then pretend everything is fine the next day.
