I'm British living in the states and was enjoying listening to my fellow British folks singing support for Hatton and banging on their drums, but instantly became annoyed and embarrassed when I heard them booing your National Anthem.
Sorry guys....I'm certain many others back in the UK weren't amused either.
Brits tend to take these kind of events very seriously and can become extremely patriotic and united...so I think when several Brits thought it was funny doing it, all the others joined in like sheep.

I didn't know this happened, boxing isn't as popular here anymore, and I'm not going to pay the payperview price for it. That's crap if it did happen though, and I'm sure more than a few people got hurt.
Americans are usually very respectful of other country anthems (I would say always, but I can't speak for everyone). E.g. when a team from Canada plays in the US. Or at soccer/football matches. I've never liked booing any anthem

Umm, well, I didn't turn on the game until after that, so I didn't hear it, but if you're right, that's extremely disrespectful. I live in the Philly area, and trust me. A small percentage of bad people make the rest look bad. I know first hand that their fans like to joke around a lot, but they aren't the type to get nasty or violent. I wore a Favre jersey at an Eagles game, and I heard a lot of boos, jokes, got the asshole chant at me, but it was all in good fun. Even my uncle joined in, lol. It's disrespectful that I'm assuming that a few people did.

I can honestly say WE showed mo0ore class.
After we get criticized so much by most Brits and still a lot of them are still running their mouths, seriously suck it up you lost, oh well there will be more fights. But we def showed everyone around the globe who saw this fight who was more classy and to applaud your national anthem after being disrespected in our country..gees ..that was nice
I mean is this how you act outside of your homeland?
Thanks though you seem to know better.

Yea, that wasn't cool at all. I can just imagine if things were reversed what people would be saying about Americans if we had boo'd the Brit's national anthem. And, Brits are supposed to be the classy ones. Pfft! Whatever
GO USA!! :p

I may not agree with booing the National Anthem, but it is a free country.
Mayweather stuck it to em with "Born in the USA"
He's the best fighter ever.

The Brits in attendance had no class at all, they booed children dancing at the weigh-in Friday. Good thing taught their champ a boxing lesson in the ring beating him up and down and then back before knocking him silly. His cowardly corner threw in the towel before their alleged tough guy was knocked out.

I will tell you the sadness of the entire affair.
Britain and the United States have been aligned in alot of issues as of lately. World issues that involve alot of cohesion and political tact.
But the Britains truly showed their worst side tonight. You boo the boxer, not the country. Completely disrespectful. Apparently there are deep rooted hatred that we arent aware of from Britains.
And tonight just made it alot worse.

British fight fans booing the Star Spangled Banner? I had not heard about it because the fight was $56 on pay per view and I probably would not have watched it for free. Anyone in Britain booing the Star Spangled Banner should cheer Deutchland Uber Alles, cause that's what you guys would be singing if it were not for Americans in World War I and World War II.
