Originally, he was in heaven and was cast down to the earth. That is where he talked with Eve of course, earth. When Christ comes to earth again, the devil will be bound/locked up for 1,000 years (during the "millenium") and be unable to tempt mankind and the earth will be a peaceful, wonderful place. Those who are born during this time will have never been tempted or tried so at the end of 1,000 years the devil will be released for a short time and men will be tried again. Eventually he will be defeated and cast out forever.

The Bible leads us to believe that 'Lucifer' (the original name for the devil) was created as a particularly beautiful, gifted and talented angel (spirit). He rebelled against God, because he became full or himself, and jealous and wanted to be God. When God then banished him, he determined to take as many human beings with him as he could. The Book of Revelation talks about the devil being released to do his worst, and that hasn't happened yet. (And I don't want to be around when it does!)

The thousand years Satan is bound occurs during the Millennial reign of Christ on earth. That is likely some time still in the future, not in the distant past. The Bible talks about it in Revelation.

by your question i'm thinking you're a christian yet bored with listening to non-believers use hell as an excuse to reject God? Atheist do no longer see us as stupid nevertheless, purely our religious concepts. they seem at us plenty like we seem at them, with sorrow and pity with the aid of fact have been being duped right into a brainwashing faith. It would not pay to argue with such human beings. you are able to't convert a sinner except God opens that persons heart. Why tell absolutely everyone approximately God then? it fairly is easy, we don't understand who God referred to as and who He did no longer. We do understand that He despatched Jesus to die for each individual nevertheless, it fairly is the only motivation we choose. We get sidetracted by the devil into thinking we could save human beings. it fairly is our message, yet salvation is in Christ. we can and could proportion the stable information, yet it fairly is the place our responsibilty ends with the unbeliever. as quickly as we plant the seed, and water it, purely God would reason it to strengthen. If believers would manage unbelievers like they do their new lawns, many extra would get saved. I.E. Prep the dirt, plant the seed, conceal it with pete, water it and guard the section from intruders that would disturb the seed. I.E. stay the life, proportion the message, enforce it with mushy kindness, refuse to nullify that message with hatred or condemnation... it fairly is an entire information equipment.
