I don't understand how believing homosexuality is okay makes you not a Christian. Actually, I think that Christians who accept gays are great Christians, because didn't Christ tell us to love the sinner, love our fellow man, and love one another because he loves us all? Didn't he teach to turn the other cheek? Didn't he teach that we should try to be more like him? If so, shouldn't we try to accept everyone and try to get along with people who might be different than us? I guess my point is... Christians who shun gays and call them evil and tell them they are going to hell don't seem very Christ-like to me. I sure as heck can't see Jesus telling a gay that he is evil and an abomination and that he is a bad human being; I see Jesus acting like he loves them and being kind to them and accepting them for what they are.
Oh and I think it says somewhere in Romans that is a sin for a man to lay with a man. Or something like that. I can't remember the exact verses.

It does not say it is "unforgivable" but does say it is a sin.
Genesis 19:1-13 Sodom and Gomorrah. The act is called a wicked (implying sinful)
Leviticus 18:22 >Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman;that is detestable.
Romans 1:27> In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men comitted indecent acts with other men, and received in themselvesthe due penalty for their perversion.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11>Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolators nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
All sin is offensive to God, not just homosexuality. This is why all need a Savior. It is important for Christians in particular to remember that we are to hate the sin but love the sinner. If the church turns their back on gays, where will gays turn? I am not saying we accept their "alternative lifestyle" (any more than I accept a bank robbers alternative life style) but that we love the person and help them (when they are willing) with their sin, just as we struggle against many of our own sins. Many homosexuals have changed, just as is taught as being possible in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
A Christian is one who acknowledges they are a sinner and believes that only through Christ's atonement are they forgiven. Believing that homosexuality is okay does not necessarily make you a non-Christian, but it is an unbiblical belief.
I hope this helped.

Well there are a couple questions I would ask you:
1. Do you think that God communicated with us in an understandable way in the Bible?
My understanding of Roman Catholic belief is that only the priests (and ultimately the pope) are qualified to know what a particular scripture means, so even if it apparently says one thing, if they say it doesn't mean that, it doesn't mean that.
If that is the true position of the RC church, then there is no reason for you to read the Bible, or care what it seems to say. Just ask for the RC church's official position on the subject.
2. If, lets say, you do believe that the Bible is a communication from God to man, that you could understand, and it said that homosexuality wasn't ok, what would you then do about it?
Anyway, if the answer to number one is "no," or the answer to number two is "nothing," then it doesn't matter.
If the answer is "yes" to number one, then read the Bible for yourself and see if you need to carry out your answer to number two or not.

Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; and 1 Timothy 1:10. These NT verses indicate it is not the will of our Lord, one among the many other ways in a whole litany of sins against Him.
BUT, ALL of these sins are forgiveable, and can be overcome by God's grace. For example, 1 Corinthians 6:11 says, in referring to that list in verse 9 of all the different kinds of sinners, "and such WERE some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, and justified (forgiven) by the Spirit of our God in Christ."
And, my life story is a "personal" letter from God to the church today, just as it was for gays who became Christian in Corinth, Greece back in the 1st century AD. I was living a gay lifestyle for many years, and the Lord forgave me, and is now changing me more and more into the likeness of how Jesus was and is; nor longer gay, but full of joy!
The only unforgiveable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (i.e., rejecting Christ when the Spirit is telling you He is your Savior and Lord) (Mark 2; 1 John 5).
And, lastly, believing that gay is ok does not disqualify you as a Christian, since His grace cannot be revoked. And, it is not given under the condition that we have all our doctrines and social and political views in order! It is given freely! It is just that when a Christian does believe that living a gay lifestyle is truly alternate and/or optional, they are either still ignorant about what the Bible says, or just disregarding what is clearly forbidden in Holy Scripture.

Leviticus 18:22 says "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination."
Romans 1:27 (RSV) warns that men who are "Consumed with passion" for one another will "receive in their own persons the due penalty for their error."
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says that homosexuals will not enter into heaven. It is talking in this passage about many types of sinners, not just homosexual people.
But God can save people whose hearts are right with Him. Practicing homosexuality is a sin, but, like any other wrong act, it does not have to be committed. I might be someone who wants to steal things. Stealing is a sin and I do not have to steal. I always have a choice.
People who have sinned (everyone) can stop sinning and ask God for forgiveness.
God doesn't hate sinners. If He did, He would have to hate everybody, because we have all sinned. But He does hate sin. Sin separates us from Him and He loves us too much to want us to be separated from Him.
To answer your second question, the way that believing homosexuality is ok makes you not a Christian is this: A Christian is a 'follower of Christ.' Christ said that homosexuality is wrong and an abomination. If one goes against the leader of any group (in this case, the Leader of Christianity) that is called rebellion. Rebellion against God or Christ makes one not a 'follower of Christ.'

The Bible does not say that God condemns homosexual people in themselves, but he does condemn homosexual acts.
God tells us in the Bible that homosexual feelings arise because people have rejected the one true God and as punishment God has let unnatural desires come upon us (Romans 1:21-27).
That people get these feelings isn't sin. They are a sign that we live in a fallen, imperfect world and that bad things happen to us as a result.
Acting on these feelings, however, is sin (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). To seek to fulfill your sexual desires in anything except a permanent relationship with someone of the opposite sex is outside the order in which God has created us.
Homosexual acts do not lead to satisfaction since they does not meet the real need that is causing those feelings to arise. It is best to come to understand your childhood past and to work out what decisions you made that led you to follow that path. Then you can make conscious decisions to change and to seek normal relationships with other men and women. It will be a rough road but it will be worth it.

It never says its unforgivable. I for one, know that God can and does forgive from it. There are a few scritptures you might want to look at though.
Leviticus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13
Revelation 22:15
Romans 1:15-32
But the Bible never says that Jesus will not forgive. If a person repents and turns to Christ, anything can forgiven, and homosexuality is not the worst sin of all anyway, all sin is wrong.

It is a known fact in life that people should live life in natural way. Anything unnatural is harmful for health (both mental and physical). It is clearly mentioned in many places in bible. You should have patient in reading bible and try to understand it.There is no use of saying you are a christrian without properly knowing bible.
Please refer the following passages from the bible.
Leviticus. Chapter 20:verse13 says
" If a man also lie with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination:they shall surely be put to death;their blood shall be upon them."

Our Creator Sets the Standard
Our Creator established rules governing marriage long before governments began regulating the institution. The opening book of the Bible tells us: “A man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24) The Hebrew word “wife,” according to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, “connotes one who is a female human being.” Jesus confirmed that those yoked together in marriage should be “male and female.”—Matthew 19:4.
Thus, God intended marriage to be a permanent and an intimate bond between a man and a woman. Men and women are designed to complement each other so they may be capable of satisfying each other’s emotional, spiritual, and sexual needs and desires.
The well-known Biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah reveals God’s feelings about homosexuality. God declared: “The cry of complaint about Sodom and Gomorrah, yes, it is loud, and their sin, yes, it is very heavy.” (Genesis 18:20) The extent of their sinful depravity at that time was apparent when two guests visited the righteous man Lot. “The men of Sodom . . . surrounded the house, from boy to old man, all the people in one mob. And they kept calling out to Lot and saying to him: ‘Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have intercourse with them.’” (Genesis 19:4, 5) The Bible says: “The men of Sodom were bad and were gross sinners against Jehovah.”—Genesis 13:13.
The men became “violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males.” (Romans 1:27) They had “gone out after flesh for unnatural use.” (Jude 7) In countries where homosexual rights campaigns are pervasive, some may object to using the word “unnatural” to describe homosexual behavior. However, is not God the final arbiter when it comes to nature? He commanded his ancient people: “You must not lie down with a male the same as you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable thing.”— Leviticus 18:22.
Your Accountability to God
The Bible is clear: God does not approve of or condone homosexual practices. He also disapproves of people who “consent with those practicing them.” (Romans 1:32) And “marriage” cannot give homosexuality a cloak of respectability. God’s direction that “marriage be honorable among all” precludes homosexual unions, which he considers detestable.—Hebrews 13:4.
Still, with God’s help, anyone can learn to “abstain from fornication,” which includes homosexual acts, and “get possession of his own vessel in sanctification and honor.”(1 Thessalonians 4:3, 4) Admittedly, this is not always easy. Nathan#, who formerly pursued a homosexual life-style, said: “I thought I could never stop.” But he did change with help from “the spirit of our God.”(1 Corinthians 6:11) As Nathan discovered, no problem is too big for Jehovah, who can provide the strength and help needed to meet His standards and receive His blessings.—Psalm 46:1.

Being homosexual is a sin but it can forgiveable if you repent and get saved. You have a choice, free will, but it is not God's will. So it is up to you. God Bless and Good Luck. edit:: Sorry but there is proof in the Bible, THE ONLY TRUE BOOK OF GOD AND JESUS......SORRY BUT GOD CREATED US AND HE GAVE US FREE WILL TO MAKE CHOICES AND IF YOU MAKE THAT CHOICE TO BE WITH THE SAME SEX THEN YOU ARE GOING AGAINST HIS WILL.
