My dad is being a real... pain. He starts an argument with me about everything. For example, he starts criticizing the way i sit, the way i eat and how I don't get enough homework. We fight just about everyday and it usually ends with him hitting me and me on my bed. My biggest problem was today, when he comes over my shoulder and reads what I am saying to my friends. I tell him no to read what I am typing because it's disrespecting my privacy(in an angry tone of course) and as usual, we start fighting again. He keeps telling me that he can do whatever he wants because he is my father and he can disrupt my privacy if he wishes to. What should I do?

first of all he shouldn't be hitting u for little things like tat. thats physical abuse. Does your mom say anything to him about that? and im am sorry to say u cant really do anything about that if you are a minor, but wait until ur 18 and move out. Try not to pick fights with him and stay out of his way. If he tells u to do something try to stay quiet and say ok. because i think thats the only way he cant keep the argument longer. good luck.

I know this may sound too dramatic, but I would talk to a counselor or trusted friend. Tell them what is going on, and they may research your rights, to see if your father is correct on his feelings. That also would be a way to get help for the future, in case you may need it.

Talk to your Mum or other family and friends that you trust. Talk to your school councillor or teacher that you trust. If you live in the UK, you could also call Childline on 0800 1111 or NSPCC on 0808 800 5000. The calls are confidential you don't have to give your details.

ohh, is ur father behaving like that ever since?
have you ever talk to him in a democratic way about how you feel?
perhaps he has a problem..
understand him in the very best way you can..
eventhough he has a heart of stone, u can able to soften it by showing him good deeds..
time would dictates..

first of all, he shouldnt be hitting you. the best thing is to stay clear of him and try to enjoy whatever else is around you and make the best of it until you move out. dont let him win.think of this as something you just have to get past.

ask ur mom to do him more. hes prolly not "getting enough" lately, and has a lot of pent up energy that he wants to use up on u. if ur mom lays him more often, things should get better.

either remind him that he will need you one day,and you wont be there for him,or report him for abuse,or you can stick it out until your old enough to knock him out.
