I remember when we didn't have a Martin Luther King day that the voters voted against. It caused such a stir that we have it like the rest of the nation because we risked not having the SuperBowl..
Now, employee sanctions will be enforced for businesses that knowingly hire illegals..
Do you think that our new law will be nationally bashed too? Threats of boycotts and then no more employee sanction law? Just curious.

I wasn't comparing MLK to illegals, to clarify. Just comparing possible boycotts after the fact on Jan.1st. Thank you though..

I'm sure that if AZ does anything that makes it more difficult to live there as an illegal alien, including punishing employers who hire illegals, that they will be bashed. But they will be on the right side, anyone that supports Illegals starts at a disadvantage in the argument, because they are supporting an illegal act that the vast majority of the US population is against.
And they will be better off in the long run, wages may have to go up in certain industries,if the state makes it too difficult to hire illegals at sub-standard wages. But if you get the Illegals out of the community in the process, thus eliminating the huge financial burden they place on the state,it will be a plus in the long run. There's really no way around it,the presence of illegals in communities always does more harm than good.

Each of the 50 states are sovereign entities within the United States, and they have the right and responsibility to enact and enforce legislation to protect their respective citizens.
Perhaps the federal government will take the hint that we, the American citizens, want some federal assistance in protecting our borders.
Send federal troops to secure the borders.
Send financial aid to border states that are attempting to secure the borders.
Impose heavy sanctions on the offending nations.

This principle of States taking matters into their own hands for the safety ; security , and in general , what was in the "best interest" of their citizens was an issue 146 years ago , it was known as The War of Yankee aggression ! Southern States wanted to secede from the Union because of government policies that weren`t in the best interest of the South , and it was not about slavery , it was about States taking care of their own needs when Washington wouldn`t !!

The lack of action by the federal government against illegal immigration is forcing states to take action. The people have spoken, and the feds are not listening.
Individual states will ensure that their governments are not sucked dry by illegals.

Much like Oklahoma the illegals will leave. I see that Red Angel has again failed in literacy and is unable to separate his fantasy world from the world we live in. Someday he may understand what racism means and figure out that defending our nation is not racism it is Patriotism.
Mexican, latino, and hispanic hate organizations have threatened the violence. It's not Americans fault that when we were threatened we pushed back and our pushing is working. Just ignore him, he's afraid and ignorant and not worth wasting time on.

I find it interesting that folks will warn against "The Hammer" of the illegal immigrant's wrath whenever legislation is passed that does not serve an illegal immigrant's interests.
I am not afraid of being sued or challenged by any illegal immigrant or any illegal supporter in this country for my making use of the Bill of Rights.

Good for Arizona! More states that are inundated with illegals and employers that ignore the law should follow suit.

You already know what the country will think. 80% of Americans understand that Arizona is on the front line of illegal immigration and for that matter, by all acounts, the country of mexico should understand as well being that they themselves have laws to protect their people from illegal aliens and go to great lengths to keep their country free of illegal aliens. As a matter of fact mexico deports more illegals anually then America does. There is absolutly no way any country will boycott America, we are the biggest buyer of world wide goods. If mexico decided to boycott the U.S it would lead to catastrophic economic turmoil in that country.

Thank God that some form of our govt.is trying to do something to stop illegal immigration.AZ needs to suggest to the rest of the US that they follow suit.maybe then the raging torrent of illegals will stop.If not the rest of the country is going to face the same economic disaster that CA.is headed for.Something has to be done now!!Hopefully this action will open the eyes of these greedy corporations that are taking advantage of this and they will see the damage they are doing.Thank You to the people of AZ dont give in to the liberals that are trying to give this country away.
