You will NEVER. EVER. EVER. get religion to disappear. I'm sorry, but it just won't happen. Religion has existed for SUCH a long time, and so many thousands of years (look at the ancient Egyptians, for instance). It will NEVER go away. And there are more religious people in this world than not (http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html), so even though this sounds harsh, people who want religion gone are probably the minority and would not be able to overthrow the majority. The answer is not getting RID of religion; the answer is teaching people to be less selfish and greedy, and to UNDERSTAND other religions instead of hating people with beliefs different than their own.
And, as a religious person myself, I do not think ridding the world of religion will help make the world more peaceful. If anything, I think the world's situation would probably just get worse.

although i believe that God is not real, the message... is.
love and kindness, etc...
the "abolishment" of God would mean that the message would be lost as well. The world needs this message, and if the only way it will survive is if there is a God to believe in, then so be it.
i I don't have to believe in God to understand the teachings of the bible, and i think if people can start realizing this and stop arguing about how real God is, and who's right and wrong, and just focus on the morals of the bible, the world would be a better place.
The real purpose of the bible has been lost over time, and has become a never ending war,
respect other religions... while keeping your own, and live your life, practicing what is preached.

You can't get rid of religion, but people are becoming less religious, which means it is possible that religion might be very minority in the future. The more things we learn about life and how it may have started, science will outrule it.
Example is if we were to create androids in the future, or make people live in eternity, our beliefs in religion would be shattered and people in the future will be born with weak beliefs.

Well, short of global thermonuclear war ending life as we know it, I don't see how.
Because belief in God isn't a bad thing, especially if you (like I) happen to believe that there is such a thing as good and evil and that God's rules promote the good of the earth and humanity, and that eliminating God's rules will result in the destruction of the earth and humanity.
I think what we should really work on eliminating is hate and greed, no matter the basis, and especially when religion is used to justify the works of darkness by calling it the work of the "right"

We don't need to get rid of it... We just need to have a better understanding of each other. You can rid the world of whatever you want, but it won't stop people from believeing in something. If people just stopped fighting out of religion the world would be a better place.

I don't think we need to get rid of it, just modernize it and implement environmental concerns for all of God's creations in a better way. If we managed to do that, religion could be a good force to help save our planet. But everyone needs to understand that it's up to each and everyone to do something about our situation, we can't just pray and wait for miracles to happen.

Religion is a great scapegoat, but it many is just that.
I swear if there is no more religion the world won't be any more good or worse. Until we each change for the better on the inside the outside will reflect our negativity.

Jesus was here to get rid of sin and alot of false religion. All the religions. There is only one God and we don't need a church or religion to worship God. God is the one I learn from not any church or religion, I am a very spritual person not religious. I don't expect anyone to understand that but I don't care, as long as I do, that's all that counts in God's eyes and mine. God Bless. If you want to know where you are going when you die, then read the Bible. You don't have to be religious to read the Bible. The Bible is the only book you need to read to understand and know the truth agout where you are going when you die and what ever you want to know about God and Jesus, the only begotten son of God.......

it fairly is actual that faith has been abused as a reason or motivator for conflict. yet then, so has the opt to be free of religion. seem on the U.S., pink China, Cuba, and comparable countries the place the opt to be faith loose has brought about as many deaths, wars, imprisonments, persecutions, and so on. So obvious faith, or the shortcoming of it, isn't the actually clarification for wars. The Bible provides a diverse clarification for conflict. interior the books of James it ask the question "For the place do wars comes? Don’t they arrive out of your needs that conflict interior of you? you choose yet don't have, so which you kill. You covet yet you are able to't get what you choose, so which you quarrel and combat. you have no longer have been given given which you do no longer ask God." the reason of conflict isn't faith, it fairly is greed and desires of adult males. If there have been no faith, wars would nonetheless proceed with the aid of fact human beings would nonetheless covet what others have.
