In Escrima there are drills known as 'weaving'- patterns that are repeated over and over again. Is the proper term 'sinAwali' or 'SinIwali'?

Sinawali is the generally accepted spelling. However, with most things in Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) it depends on the preference of the school. Almost always it refers to double stick patterns.

The actual Filipino word from which it is derived is "sinawali" a type of native cloth weave with repetitive patterns indigenous to the Philippines. It's equivalent to the western term "crochet" or "quilt". I guess it somehow became "siniwalis" due to westerners who have a hard time pronouncing it after learning from Filipino masters.
