to pray to every God I can think of just to be certain that I'm insured in case one of them exists. I would really hate to have any negative repercussions in the afterlife because it turns out that there is a god and I didn't pray to him. I'm trying to compile a list so I can make sure I'm covered. I've already listed Zeus, Thor, Odin, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Allah, Bible God.....can you think of any others? If you know of any rituals that I can do to appease any of these Gods I'd really like to know about them. And of course I will have to keep it on the down low in case any of these Gods are the kind that require exclusivity. I'm just trying to cover all my bases, you never can be too careful when you're talking about eternal life

Interesting question. Websters dictionary defines the word faith as follows; 1.- a.) allegiance to duty or a person. b.) fidelity to one's promises. c.) sincerity of intentions. 2.- a.) belief and trust in and loyalty to God b.) belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion. c.)firm belief in something for which there is no proof, d.) complete trust. 3.- Something that is believed especially with strong conviction. Synonyms = On faith: without question. i.e. -took everything he said on faith. You are correct to say that faith is not necessary if someone declares something to be true 100%. People should say "I have faith that God exists" rather then saying "I am 100% positive that God exists." Your inquisition does make sense by definition. But faith also means trust by definition. I think that's why people say, "I know 100% that God exists." It is how they display their trust (or faith) with words.

Wow, man thanks for telling me about the flying spaghetti monster. I've been trying to find a god I'm cool with and that one sounds the coolest. I mean what cooler god could there be? I'm thinking your safe with the spaghetti monster.

i suspect nothing you do will appease the abrahamic god, so i wouldn't waste my time on him/it/them. the rest of them are pretty laid back, and will appreciate that you are doing your best, so you don't need to worry about them.

anyway, didn't you know all kitties go to heaven?

i'll put in a word for you to cernunos, tho, just to be on the safe side.

No matter what you call it or how you spell it, there is only one power, one spiritual FORCE. Many religions have been trying to own it for years upon years.

It has no name, no face, no voice and it cares not whether you pray to it or not.

It is and it will always be. It is up to you to use it and let it flow through you or not.

May the force be with you.

The other gods may forgive you, should they exist, but as for Jesus, He says, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to the Father but through Me." Moreover, He says that you are either for Him or against Him, there is no "fence-sitting" in Jesus' eyes.

But hey, it's your life, do what you want. : )

EDIT. Isn't that interesting? I just said what the Christian faith teaches, yet said he should do what he wants to do and I still get a thumbs down because I mentioned Jesus. I'm so glad all these tolerant atheists are around, I mean, I can't imagine how intolerant the world would be without them.
