This happened years ago, I am not actually sure that my cat died but since having the dream I assumed he had passed away. My cat (11 years old) had eaten a possum and he had been throwing up fur etc for a few days, he was very lightweight and he was sleeping on my boyfriends car, we turned the car on and my bf started reversing but the cat didnt move. He was alive I just had to go pick him up. So anyway I picked up my cat, took him inside for a bit then fed him outside. The next day he didnt come home, in fact he never came home, we lived across the road from a river reserve so I thought maybe he was spending a few days away as he often did. A week later I had a dream, my cat was running up from the reserve and up the stairs to our house, he ran into my brothers room and curled up and fell asleep, his skin was yellow and his fur was falling out in patches, I walked over to him and gave him a kiss and then he faded away. Was my cat saying goodbye to me in my dream?

I think it's possible that your brain and heart were helping you to accept the death of your wonderful cat. The cat probably had something to do with it.
We had a cat who had apparently been hit by a car. He was BADLY wounded (his entire left side was sliced open the whole length of his body) but somehow he made it back into our yard before he died. I think it was his way of saying goodbye.

This story actually made me cry :(. I had a cat that passed away and I feel terrible about your loss. You loved your cat this much that you would dream this up. I feel that you were saying good bye to him but then again it could be the other way around. It sounds like you guys had a tight bond together and I'm sure he would have wanted to say goodbye. If you are going to get another cat (which I think would take a bit of time to get over) I suggest that you keep it an indoor cat. Im so very sorry about your loss and best of luck with your life.

I lost my little miniature poodle this past summer. I had him for 11 years. Anyway, he loved to play in the piles of fall leaves, that I always loved to rake. Anyway, about 5 weeks after he died, I was in my back yard really missing him. There were about a dozen or so leaves lying on the ground, and the sun was out. No wind , and all of a sudden, a few of the leaves just lifted off the ground, and moved around my chair, I always laughed when he ran around with a mouth full of leaves. I felt so peaceful all of a sudden. I believe that was his way of letting me know he was o.k. and to say goodbye to me.Pets have spirits too, and if they are loved, they will come to comfort you when you are down.

So sorry for your pain, I really hope you cat is in a better place.
I had to put my cat to sleep. She was very sickly, and was suffering...I made the decision to put her out of her misery and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I am still haunted by it to this day...she was like my child. I occasionally have dreams about her, and although she looks bad in the dream, like fur missing and stuff, she is always very loving to me and crawls into the crook of my arm like she did when she was just a baby. I miss her very much, and only hope that your dream gives you a little bit of closure.

Sorry about your cat.
Dreams are interesting. Usually, we're not ourselves in our dream, we are the other people or things that appear. Perhaps it was you saying goodbye to the part of your psyche that your cat represented?
Also could be that your cat was someone else... dreams are complex.

Personally I think that your cat was saying goodbye, thanks for the love that you gave me. Sometimes animals have a weird way of coming back to us when they have passed on. My family dog of thirteen years died and he sometimes will come and lay on my legs at night, I will know it's him. I recommend lighting a candle for your kitty, saying a prayer and knowing that your cat came to you to say goodbye. May God bless you through this time!

Yes. Cats are very telepathic animals and communicate with us and their kind telepathically.
My mom's cat communicated that way when he died and when he was alive by dreams she had. Other cats we had, including my Suzy, did the same thing.

I fully believe that your cat was saying goodbye. When love is shared between 2 beings they feel for one another.

Could be. Maybe you are still saying goodbye to your cat. It's so sad to lose a pet that you love.

Probably not. It was probably you wanting to say goodbye to your cat sinse you didn't get to. And it just appeared in the dream like that. I'm sure that if my cat didn't come home like that after being sick, I would want to say goodbye to her too. It would really make me feel better to have a dream like that.
