The writers of the bible (OT) did not believe there to only be one god, just that their god was superior. The OT mentions many other god as well, it mentions, not by name the"gods of other lands". I can not figure out why they believe their god to be the only one. Even the term the "one true god", does not imply the only god.

cuz if u study the nature and all the creation the universe with everything in it,u would notice the similarities there r and the harmony that proves only 1 creator has designed every thing.Allah says in the Koran:if there was more than 1 god u would have found so many contrasts.
besides if there were many gods then each would have had abilities the others didn't have and so none would have been perfect and so God.God should be perfect.
if there were many Gods they might have argued over things and there might have been God wars all over the place

There are many gods.
There is one Creator.
He warned against showing fealty to any other god.
ANY spiritually aware and non-corporeal intelligence would be a "god" to any human limited by the conviction of corporeality. Such as you, for example.
[Are my words too big, the conveyed concepts too subtle? Too bad.]
You will likely never encounter any intelligence of this sort, as you have already allied with the deceiver, undoubtedly without realizing it. You will not be bothered.
Why do you ask this question? Monotheists do not believe in one God. They know of many. They believe in one Father and one creator.
IF a creative intelligence is logical, is there any logical necessity for that creative intelligence to be alone, or for it to have not created other non-corporeal entities? Of course not. The bible often refers to the heavenly "host".
Do not confuse your spiritual entities with godliness, and do not confuse the concept of "god" with with "monotheism". The latter refers only to worship and respect, while the former refers to powers and principalities.
You present and argue from ignorance. Study your enemy. Learn his story. Understand its root.
Or not.
You will then be seen as ignorant.
Your choice.

That's how it was in the old days, before Jesus got put on a stick.
In a specific case, the Aztecs did not believe in a lot of gods, but they respected the four elements (earth, wind, fire and water) and used sculptures/drawings as a way to honour these vital ways of living.
But then came the Ethaponoles (Spainards) and thought that the Aztecs believed in various gods, when they really didn't.
But I digress.

First, with a view to instruct something approximately gods, i'd think of we would opt to make certain one. There would be some interplay of a few variety with this international and the god. i do no longer think of no longer having interplay with this international inevitably shows there is not any god accessible, yet for us to instruct one, we would could see information of it. So, i'd think of shall we communicate with this god and ask how godlike it fairly is and if there are others like it. could we anticipate this god isn't mendacity? i'm not sure no rely if honesty is a few thing inherent in gods or no longer. shall we additionally ask this god no rely if any of our religions in the international have the marvelous thought approximately him/her. So, easily, i'm offering we in basic terms communicate with the god to get the solutions. If the god would not opt to communicate, we could be out of high quality fortune. i'm nonetheless not sure shall we teach something from his/her solutions, nevertheless. it truly is in basic terms the 1st thought that got here to techniques after examining your question and it amused me, so right here you bypass, nevertheless it is not truly what you have been searching for.

Cause of that passage in the bible that says Yahweh is the one true holy god, and you shall not worship any other gods before him.
Which is dumb because that implies there are more gods, but we are to only worship one.

Just one God, Creator of Heaven and earth and everything in them. No need to worship everything in creation, just The Creator Himself.

where would all the other gods come from ? there would have to be one first creaive force to create these other gods. there would still have to be one first cause, not created but infinite. only that original source could actually be called GOD. we call those other created spirit beings angels.
