I was baptized Catholic, I have been to different churches, but I am very fascinated by Buddhism. How come I have never met anyone who was Buddist?

Buddhists don't typically advertise the fact. And Buddhism as a whole doesn't actively require its practitioners to recruit newcomers. So maybe you've met Buddhists but it simply wasn't obvious to you. The best case estimate suggests that about 2% of Americans affiliate with Buddhism.

You might be interested to know that at least two Catholic priests have received dharma transmission and have become Zen masters (see link below).

Hi
Yes You may have done and not noticed
These days the so called teachers have a fondness for wearing black
What you may have been believing was a priest could well be a zen teacher proselytizing his own sect
Either directly or indirectly

Non-Christians consider their beliefs too personal and precious to bleat them out at everyone. If one's faith (or lack thereof) is strong and peaceful, there is no need to shout it from the rooftops and make a loud nuisance of oneself.
