Buddhism, for one.

And atheism is not a religion. No matter how many people - like Sangria - think it is.

Atheism by itself is, if anything, a lack of religion.

If I go by Sangria's nifty little list of definitions, that fact that myself and a bunch of friends enjoy a particular movie would make us part of a religion. Because we all share the set belief that the movie was good.

Atheism is only one single solitary belief, which is hardly enough to constitute it as a religion,

Atheism is one... and it IS a religion! Let's look at its definition, shall we?

re·li·gion [ri-lij-uhn] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1.a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2.a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.
3.the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: a world council of religions.

Atheists believe in something; they believe that God does not exist and they adhere to this concept "religiously."

On edit: Atheism is a system of beliefs, even if one promotes that "atheists believe NOTHING, or there is a LACK of belief." The lack of belief itself is a belief, because to believe or to not believe is up to the individual; the evidence for whichever conclusion one comes to CANNOT be scientifically validated or disproved.

I can see Fear's point, but I would have to disagree: I see Atheism as a religion because many people identify themselves as atheists, hence creating a group (purposefully or not) that is made up from this shared belief. Similarly, is the "Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" a religion, even though it is perceived by some as satirical? I would argue that it is a religious group, just as Atheists are.
