I found a bug on my dog today. Its not fleas or ticks (I know what those look like). This one crawls very very fast and hides in his fur. Its bigger than a flea. What is it and how do I get rid of it? I already use a flea prevention and bathe him regularly.

It has a long body, black, size of half a grain of rice. It doesnt jump, just crawls really fast.

How much bigger than a flea?
Color?
Body shape?

There are a couple different types of flea so it actually may be fleas. Flea preventatives do not always work and flea baths only work for a short period. It's easier to identify if we can see it.
