on any date, casual or festive, usually is the guy that pays for the date. another way to consider who pays is the one who invites.... if both guys and gals , not dating, like with a group of friends hanging out then everyone should pay for their own snacks or meal..

Typically, whoever asked the other out on the date should pay. For example, if the guy asks the girl out, then he should pay, and vice versa. It's like inviting a friend to go out with you and then demanding that they pay for the expenses. It just doesn't make sense.

offer to pay and if they insist to pay then say "well i make a deal with u, u pay for this and i will pay for the... (if your doing anything else that night pay for that; the movie, some ice cream, or what ever.) trust me it works plus it makes u seem like a good person and it might be a turn on...Good Luck.
