Looking to start part-time job while daughter is in school durning the daytime. I have been at home mom 4 years now and have NEVER used babysitter or daycare & would like to keep it that way. WHAT DO I DO ABOUT SUMMER BREAKS, SPRING BREAKS & OTHER VARIOUS BREAKS W/OUT QUITING the job every summer and starting a new one? I dont see how this is going to work!
#1) What *part-time* job (NOT CAREER) would allow you to simply not work durning most of your childs school vacations & breaks? Im thinking NONE! except teaching....and well that is a career. Im only looking into casual part-time jobs for extra cash and definatly want it to be OUTSIDE the home for socialization issues I desperately need.
#2) If i crack and decide to do the daycare thing (I simply refuse to put her in personal nanny/sitter care due to security issues i have) but could consider a large daycare building/setting....Will they even be OPEN durning a holiday break and school breaks? Or is most large centers closed

for those of you with jobs at the schools...what is your position? How shall I apply? My daughter is not in the public school system...she is in private religious based school which does follow the public school system shedule somewhat for days off. I know her school has nothing open for work. :(

I believe it is possible from home and make a great income! I work from home and enjoy it. There is a new company that is so legitimate that Macy's, Target, JC Penney, Apple, Home Depot, and over 1,000 other popular stores are participating in it and backing it up. Many people don't know about it yet because it's only about 1 year old. It is exploding!
I started a very simple home based business with a new international company that is 100% free and totally different. It's legitimate and not like anything else around. It's not MLM or an Affiliate and it's 100% scam free. There is nothing to sell, no meetings, and tools are free. It's an honest company with good morals and we are trying to help everyone who wants to work at home and make some extra money. Again it's free so you have nothing to lose. Let me know if you want more info.

When my youngest goes off to school I plan on working for the school district to get extra $$. Maybe in the lunchroom or the office? Anywhere they can use part time help. This way I'll be home with the kids when school is closed.
The downfall is that the school districts don't pay that great. However I think it will balance out because I won't have to pay for 3 kids in daycare when school is closed.
I hope this helps!
Good luck in your searching!

If teaching is the only career that works for your schedule then hire a teacher to watch Baby! I am a teacher and there are always teachers looking for summer jobs! Visit your local elementary schools and ask the office to post a message on the teacher boards or just talk to the secretaries themselves (they know everyone and everything... they're amazing)! Hope this helps!

Working w/in the school district is a good idea, but in my area, those jobs are hard to come buy. I too am a part time worker, my daughter is in 1st grade, and I work retail. My manager when she hired me knew my availability, and agreed to it, and so far, it has not been a problem.

What about working at a school as a receptionist or teacher assistant? That would be a great job to have to be off summers.
