It's a suite like Microsoft Office but with less features and a lower price. It doesn't include anything like PowerPoint or Publisher.

With all due respect, I wouldn't go to Wikipedia for anything inasmuch as anyone can edit it.

Works is simply a basic word processing program that is included on some PCs. It is not as complex as Word or Word Perfect.

My Personal choice is Microsoft Office with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. If you're looking for a good deal:

It's a low end suite of tools like Office.

It's not nearly as powerful, but may be enough for home users.
