Me and my fiancee are getting married at the courthouse in a year. It's the first marriage for both of us. What should I wear? My friend wore jeans and a hoodie when she got married there. I want something nice but not super fancy.

We're both 23. Will be 24 when we get married. It's the first wedding for both of us.

I thought about a destination wedding for just us two. But it's really important to me that my dad and grandparents are there. My grandfather is in bad health and he'll be 71. I want him at the courthouse cuz I'm afraid he won't be alive to see my big formal "wedding".

A nice dress that's not floor length.... like http://www.davidsbridal.com/search.jsp?search_category=C1,C8&search_query=sheath or a white bride's maids dress... that's not too fancy but that's nice

My step-daughter and her husband got married this summer at a courthouse. He wore a sports jacket and slacks and she wore a long summer dress. Even if it is just a courthouse wedding I think it shows a lack of respect to not even bother to dress up a little.

How about a nice cocktail dress? Something you could wear again, like to a fancy Christmas party or something. I found a gorgeous one on JC Penney's website that I just love. See what you think...

Wear a pretty dress that truly marks the occasion like a tea length (above the ankle about mid to lower calf) and a small bouquet of flowers......Congratulations

I had a cream and wine colored formal dress when I went and had my civil ceremony done, and he wore his dress blues (cracker jacks) and his Ma (adopted mother) her granddaughter and a couple of our friends were there.

I say have the people you want there, my family couldn't make it cause they are half a country away.
