probably Innova. I feed Timberwolf and love it though...Pedigree gets 5 stars? I am surprised by that...no offense intended.

edited to add: sorry but I couldnt help but check. I hate misinformation. for the other poster: Pedigree gets 1 star actually. Dont feel bad though, just know better. I fed my puppy science diet at first because I didnt know better and it is also 1 star.

There is no "best" food- every dog is different in terms of how he does on a certain brand. The following are great brands:

Canidae
Wellness
Solid Gold
Taste of the Wild
Innova
Innova EVO
California Natural
Nature's Variety
Orijen
Timberwolf Organics

AVOID: Pedigree, Purina, Iams, Eukanuba, Kibbles & Bits, Beneful, Ol' Roy, Alpo, Science Diet, and other grocery store brands.

I personally feed a raw diet, and yes, I do think it is the best food for dogs.

Innova Evo, Merrick, Artemis, Eagle Pack and Canidae are good. Science Diet, Iams, Eukanuba, etc...are crap.

Edit: Sunluvr: your critters are really cute =)

We use Solid Gold Wolf King. The first ingredient is buffalo. There are no by-products, no corn or wheat. Very healthy!

I like the Food Lion brand kibbles n' bits knock-off. It seems to have a good mix for our multiple dog household. Old dogs, young dogs, Pugs, poodles, snauzers. Our dogs are kinda weird, they ate our Jack-o-lantern, candle and all!

I like Innova (Innova Evo for the cat)
I feed both my dog and cat this food and they are doing great.
I found both of them at 5 months old wandering the street and have had them on this food ever since.
they both have beautiful coats, clean, white teeth, and are really healthy
see for yourself...
