I believe in God. I believe that Jesus is The Christ. I believe that after we die we go to an afterlife and will be able to meet God face to face. However, I DON'T believe the existence of God can be proven (unless He miraculously appears in person). I believe people can feel His love and witness His miracles, so maybe you can prove it to yourself (maybe even I could from that). But how do you convince the world of His existence? I thought that would make me an Agnostic Christian, but then I've been told that I'm a Gnostic Christian. I don't think that fits me. Does anyone have any idea what I should call myself? Should i just leave it at "Christian" or what? I'm asking because many people find it contradictory for me to call myself an Agnostic Christian. So, in other words, is it "proving it" to yourself (your beliefs/feelings), or is it being able to present proof to the world? I'm obviously confused, but hopefully anyone reading this gets it.

Don't misunderstand; I DO NOT DOUBT God's existence. I just don't think there's any way to PROVE He actually exists. Make sense?

Dooltaz: Your high-and-mighty, condescending ways are a downer. Obviously you don't get it.

p.s. about the "not yet" being a Christian: been there, done that - I was raised Mormon. I was/am a Christian. Of course, I'm sure many of you would disagree with me when I say Mormons are in fact Christians. All I can say is, You idiots.

If you believe in God, Jesus, Heaven, etc., you are not agnostic, at least in my opinion. I consider myself to be agnostic for the reason that I do not BELIEVE anything. I think that the existence of god can neither be proved nor disproved, and I think that defines me as agnostic. You may be a questioning Christian, but that is about as close as you come to being agnostic. You might be gnostic or an antideist, believing in Christianity but doubting God, and yet you say that you expect "to be able to meet God face to face"! I think that you are either confused or want to cover all the bases just in case!

You're not a Christian... or at least not yet...

Jesus said John 14:1 "Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me."

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Now how can you know that God exists? You can review all the world religions, and spend years researching the differences between creationism and Darwinism to find that evolution in fact has no real evidence, but rather just guesses from perverted college professors like richard dawkins. You can read through articles and research to understand how DNA works and see just how complex it is for yourself, and that it's so complex that some sort of designer must exist to have programmed its complex instruction set.

You can spend years researching and reviewing scientific journals and comparing it to the biblical historical record only to confirm again and again that the biblical history of creation, the flood account and everything else is the most logical explanation.

The question is are you seeking truth or are you just wanting to get through the day? If you are seeking temporary happiness, then forget God and going an atheist club and do what you want, because claiming to be a Christian will do you no good after you die.

If you're happy where you're at, skip the Christian title, and at least be honest in that regard that you are not Christian.

A Christian is someone who realizes how much of a wicked sinner they are as I and many others have, and have repented and surrendered their lives to Christ through faith. When I prayed 7 years ago the prayer that changed my life, I wasn't sure if Jesus was real at all, but I knew that I didn't want to go to hell and I knew that I needed God's help and I knew that I didn't want to keep living in the guilt of hidden sin.

So I surrendered, and committed my life to Him, only with a small faith. But very quickly He caused me to stop sinning and he got me to start going to church, get baptized, etc.

Today my only regret is that I didn't give my life to Him sooner. He is faithful and good.

God is all around you-just look at the sky, the clouds, the trees, look in the mirror. You can't convince the world of Gods existence, no one can. When Jesus was alive, even people then doubted Him.
You need to chill out a bit. Try and live your life righteously, pray to Jesus, repent and be happy that you have your faith, which is alot more than most people can do. Good Luck
Praise Jesus, Lord and Savior!!!
By the way, you sound like a good Christian to me.

This might be a shock for you, but in the Bible it says that (not sure what the exact words are) God is in "Secret." Meaning, His identity. He comes on Earth like a human being. People may be talking to Him and acts just a like a human being. His REAL appearance cannot be seen by anyone because He is in so much glory. That's for both God the Father, and God the Son. Him and His angels appear so often, that you might not even know that you've actually seen God (in a human body). He works in mysterious ways and is very uncomprehended by us humans. I hope you at least understand what I mean.

Yes, you are confused, but this is normal. You need to spend time studying, reading, praying and even getting guidance from those far more knowledgeable than you or I.

Why do you need a title? Does it matter? Try to make each day a new step towards what you know is right. What did Christ teach? Follow his teachings. They do not hurt in fact as you follow the teachings you gain happiness.

I didn't let go of my angst until I was over 50 so never give up, keep working. I was amazed where I ended up......it was an interesting journey. This new one is also quite interesting.

First of all, if you're going to call yourself Christian maybe you should consider your language. That don't sound too great coming from a Christian. But as far as proving the existense of God, we don't have to. The Bible says that the heavens declare that. If people can't look up into the sky at night and realize that there is a higher power they must be brain dead.

The existence of God cannot be scientifically "proven". That's just how it is. If it could, this forum would not exist, because we would have all the answers.

Continue to believe in God and practice your religion, but don't feel inadequate because you cannot prove something that cannot be proven.

In my opinion i dont believe in labels, If you belive and you say you do and you have asked for forgivness of all your sins and are living to the best of your ability then you are a Christian. We are all accountable for our own salvation son we dont need a label. God knows whats in your heart maybe you should try a Christian Church .Dont worry about your label your are doing just fine.

You can not believe and still have faith. The two are not synonymous.
Don't worry about being labeled. Jesus sat in the desert and thought of a good way to live life. Buddha sat under the Boddhi tree. It was those who followed who turned their thoughts into dogma and religion. Follow the path.

agnostic means no knowledge. if you say you believe in all of the things you said above, then your not agnostic becuase you have faith in something. Your basically lost. read the bible becuase religion is all about having faith and you have some, just not in the right mind set.
